5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful portable fan
This is a nice lightweight fan that packs a lot of power -- and modern conveniences -- in a good-looking, compact, and portable package. Features include oscillating grill, simulated breeze mode, and an electronic timer, plus a handy remote to control the whole shebang without getting up from your chair. Highly recommended, even from someone who swears by the littlest...

2.0 out of 5 stars Whistling fan
I bought this fan based on the reviewers who called it quiet. However, even at the lowest setting, the fan makes a whistling sound, like the lowest note you can whistle. It's more pronounced at the higher speeds. I expected the usual white noise of a fan or even some motor hum, but the whistling got on my nerves and kept me awake. Beware if you're sensitive to sound or...

Highly recommended, even from someone who swears by the littlest Vornado (aka the Tiny Tornado!), another fine little fan.

I love this fan; it's just the right size and the handle on top is great for moving it around. It's very quiet on the low setting -- perfect for sleeping. I probably won't use the breeze setting-it slows the motor, then speeds it up--supposedly like a breeze--but some may like it.The remote is cool and so is the spinning grille--it really does spread out the air more when you set it to spin. I live in North Carolina with no air conditioning and I have eight fans, including a vornado (it is too noisy on the medium and high settings), and this Holmes Blizzard Fan is by far the best I've ever owned. It even has a timer, and I highly recommend this fan!

Doesn't blow quite as much air as I thought it would, but it isn't bad considering how quiet it is. The remote works great, and the controls are all duplicated on the front, so if the remote breaks or gets lost, you can still control it. It's great to be able to turn it on for a certain time period and have it automatically switch off.

This smaller than normal fan will surprise you with its features and its size. It actually blows more air farthur than my pedistal fan almost twice its size. The remote has very good range and the fan is very light.

Will probably buy another of these for my son's bedroom.

This fan has several settings, some of which simulate a breeze (not a constant flow of air). It also has a timer setting and a remote. We have one at our office as well, and everyone loves it. It's pretty quiet too.

This fan has alot of power for being a smaller size model. It doesn't make alot of noise either. The air feels like a breeze from outside. If you move it to different rooms it is lightweight and has a handle at the top, which is very convienent for a counter or tabletop. I highly recommend this fan. The price is very reasonable too! I hope this helps you in making a decision.

We bought this fan to create white noise for our 7 month old son and replaced a box fan with it. We wanted to be able to put it out of reach when he is old enough to get hurt by it. I liked that it was small yet still 'loud' enough to drown out the city noise from his bedroom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank god for the Blizzard!!!!!!!!!!!!!, April 4, 2007
This review is from: Holmes HAPF622R Blizzard Remote Control Power Fan (Kitchen)
I was burning up every afternoon in my office with three very large west facing windows. I was ready to move to a smaller office with a not so good view until I ordered the Blizzard. I agree with the other reviewers, the fan doesn't blow all that hard..BUT...it doesn't have to. Somehow it puts out truly cold air in an office whose temperature is around 80 degrees. I am extrememely hot natured and this fan causes me to reach for my sweater and a hot cup of coffee most afternoons. I ordered one for my mother because she had a similiar situation, now she keeps a sweater at her desk. ITS THE BEST!!!!!!!

After 6 months, the rotating feature stopped working. Then the fan motor got weak and we had to take a long object to kick start the blades, and finally after about 1 year, the fan died. A fan that expensive should last longer than this.
