5.0 out of 5 stars Great, powerful, safe heater
I bought this heater because it has an all plastic casing surrounding the metal heating element. Therefore, I can put it on the floor and my young children will not be burned by it. It is also a very effective heater, easily heating a large bedroom or living room. However, with the thermastat on the heater, it won't overheat a room.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the money
this was the first of the heater fans I tried out. It has been many years since I bought a space heater and I am glad they are now including thermostats with them! I like the thermostat feature. however, I found it a bit too loud (fan) for my liking for sleeping. the metal coils in this model tend to rattle a little (even new) and it is common with a coil heater, just a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Little Heater, January 26, 2007

Quiet, and I can leave it on when I'm not home. This little one does a great job of pumping out the heat. You can program for the temp and speed of the fan.

I use the heater at work and it does it's job and warms up a desent size room (office/small lobby) I love that it oscillates and it has very powerful heat that blows out as soon as you turn it on. Not only is it powerful but its very quiet. I definetely recommend this heater!

5.0 out of 5 stars a perfect little heater, November 30, 2007
I absolutely love this heater. I am going on my second winter with this heater- and it stills works perfectly. I have tried other heaters- this by far is the best. Yes its small and doesn't have a remote, but the power is amazing. It heats up a small room in very little time. My favorite thing about this heater is that there is a fan in it that blows the heat outward - that way you can actually feel it if you are sitting near it.
It does the job.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice little heater, July 24, 2008

This review is from: Holmes HFH5606-U Oscillating Power Electric Space Heater w/ One Touch Display (Office Product)
This is my first heater so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it works fine so far. They turn up the AC rediculous at work so I keep this puppy under my desk, it keeps my feet really warm in sandals, but keeps even my upper body warm enough to forego covering up my summer outfits with a sweater. It is nice for the price in having multiple settings. I don't use the high or the oscillation because of the noise, but on low it is plenty warm enough and quiet. I find that if I leave it on the thermostat for low/80, I still can get cold when it shuts off so I switch to just low and it will stay on until you shut it off, then I get too hot sometimes and switch back to thermostat. This baby comes with a 3 yr warrenty too. I was looking at a slightly cheaper Boston heater somewhere else and I think it was like only 1 yr warrenty or maybe less I forget, but more than one review said after a year or so the fan would break so I picked this to get the 3 year warrenty. I've only had it 2 to 3 weeks I think.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Good!!!!, December 15, 2011
This review is from: Holmes HFH5606-U Oscillating Power Electric Space Heater w/ One Touch Display (Office Product)
***WARNING***Don't trust this unit!! It almost started a fire!! I had it on high as it kept shutting off when I had it set on 80 degrees and it was only 42 degrees in the room. It ran ok for 2 days, but, then I came home from work and I smelled something burning, smelled like wires and plastic, I followed the smell to the room with the heater, and it was smoking from under it!! I unplugged it an put it outside to cool down. I had it on a counter and it got so hot it bubbled the counter!! (BOTTOM ALL MELTED)I know it's going to cost a lot to fix the counter, but if I would have gone out with the guys from work (Like I almost did) I may not have had a home to come back to!! Don't trust!! I'm trying to get a hold of "HOLMES" as it has a 3 year warranty. I haven't been able to get through yet, Busy signal is all I get most of the time, but I did get through once but was put on hold for over 40 minutes and I had an appointment to get to so I had to hang up. I'm still trying! But even if they replace it I will only use it when I'm awake and when I'm in the room! I will also put a steel plate under it so if it happens again it won't damage anything again!

4.0 out of 5 stars great little heater, December 10, 2009

I bought this heater for my office, which is cold year round. It works very nicely. I have had some difficulty adjusting the settings---you have to click thru them all to find what you want. Also had trouble figuring out how to make it oscillate. Instructions were not clear at all for this. However, I am much warmer and don't have to worry about burning myself on it.

I like the thermostat feature. however, I found it a bit too loud (fan) for my liking for sleeping. the metal coils in this model tend to rattle a little (even new) and it is common with a coil heater, just a slight ting. if your not a sensitive sleeper or not using it for sleep, then it will probably be fine for your needs. sorry, I returned it, only for something more quiet, which puts me into something more like convection or oil heaters.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good... buy at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $30, January 10, 2009

This review is from: Holmes HFH5606-U Oscillating Power Electric Space Heater w/ One Touch Display (Office Product)
I just bought this and have it going now so I thought I'd check reviews. I originally went to buy a more expensive Delonghi or something else. Bed Bath and Beyond coupons never expire (contrary to what's printed. Their price is only $30 for this model and I had a $10 off coupon. Cool. ;)

1.0 out of 5 stars a heater that doesn't get hot, January 2, 2009
This review is from: Holmes HFH5606-U Oscillating Power Electric Space Heater w/ One Touch Display (Office Product)
I've never had a heater that is barely warm, let alone the desired hot. I read a review that said the same thing prior to making my purchase but made the mistake of not heeding the warning. It' a lousy product.
