Great Rotating Heater,
This review is from: Holmes HFH5606-UM Oscillating Heater Fan with 1Touch® Electronic Thermostat (Kitchen)
I have this heater in my office at work and I had one at home. It is perfect for warming a nice sized space. My work office is about 10x10. At home I used it in the guest bedroom or my master bedroom if I didnt want the central heat on. I love that it rotates. With all the different heat settings you will find one that works for you. I'm buying another because I lent my home one to my parents and they plugged it into an outlet with about 10 other appliances, the breaker popped and burned the circuitry. (Not the fans fault). I would recommend to a friend.

I bought this heater in late November of 2010. In quit working mid February of this year. I notice a small melted spot on the back of the unit right above the cord. If you have this product, be careful!

Noisy, annoying 1-button control, no safety features,

This review is from: Holmes HFH5606-UM Oscillating Heater Fan with 1Touch® Electronic Thermostat (Kitchen)
We bought the Holmes heater based on the fact that it was one of the few space heaters with good reviews. I was expecting something much larger, but I suppose that's my fault for not reading all the specs. It's probably not a bad heater if you specifically need something that's ultra-portable or which won't take up much storage space in the closet. This heater is okay for heating a very small room (10'x10' or smaller) or for keeping your feet warm under your desk, but for any other application, you're better off getting something else.At first it was relatively quiet, but after one winter, it's now very noisy. On the low setting, the heating element makes a loud noise. On the high setting, the heating element is quiet, but the fan is really noisy. There's only 1 button which cycles through 12 settings. It's really annoying when you just want to change from LO to HI (or vice versa) and you have to cycle through half a dozen settings to get there. The thermostat can be off by as much as 10 degrees. Although I knew this heater didn't have any safety features when I purchased it, I wouldn't buy it again. At the very least, I would recommend getting a heater with a timer--or, if you have pets or children, one with a tip-over sensor.
