He is a Member of the Council of the Institute on the Holocaust and Genocide (Jerusalem) and a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre for the Comparative Study of Genocide (New South Wales, Australia). With Stephen Feinberg, he co-edited Teaching the Holocaust (Allyn & Bacon, 2000). He is also the editor of Teaching Holocaust Literature (Allyn & Bacon, 2000).
