Parchment Worshippers Take Note,
By
This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
The Constitution that we live under was originally intended to be a document that would provide the cracks from which the waters of tyranny would ooze. The Hamiltonian Centralizers purposely provided us with a document that would destroy true Federalism (decentralization) and exalt the notion of a highly centralized form of Republican tyranny. The "Anti-Federalists" were the TRUE Federalists, and the "Federalists" were actually anti-federalists when the meaning of such is taken in its proper context. Boston T. Party deflates the wet dreams of the Parchment Worshippers. The Constitution actually went through numerous re-writings so as to pave the way for later interpretations that would grant ultimate power to a Central Machine. The Articles of Confederation should have been left to stand.

Excellent Expose' of the Constitution,

This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
Kenneth Royce does a brilliant job of exposing the US Constitution for what it really is: a government that centralizes all power in the Federal government. Royce takes you from the Revolution to the ratification of the Constitution showing how the Articles of Confederation were totally destroyed. As pointed out by Royce this should be called a national, not federal government. The Constitution provides the framework for an unlimited government instead of a confederate republic.Royce correctly shows Hamilton's designs for a all powerful, monarchial central government with which to submerge the states. Although this book can be depressing it is a must read for a patriot.

Wow! What a eye opener!,
This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
Most libertarians, such as myself, hold the Constitution as the panacea of liberty and freedom. However, how has our government become so large and almost monster-like in size? Why is it that our Bill of Rights are constantly under attack? Is it because we are still under the Emergency War powers act?...maybe...but how are we still under a War Powers act? Even before 911. Why does it seem that the government can carte blanche create 60,000 laws a year and many of them "apparently" anti-Constitutional. The Constitution can be seen as a legal Trust. The Asset was Liberty, the benefactor was the people, the signators where the founding fathers and the government was the executor of the trust. Somebody seems to have defaulted (and "is" defaulting) on their job...hmmm..is it the government or is it "We the people"...I'll let you decide. Read the constitution, do some reading and ask yourself, "Is our government the same one invisioned in 1789 in the Constitution?" Well, if you say no, then you must ask "how" did it happen. Look no further, "Hologram of Liberty" will educate thoroughly. The devil is in the details and the details are the maleability of legal fictions.
Anyone who holds Alexander Hamilton in high regard, will no longer after reading this and performing additional research. Bravo Kenneth, Bravo...

This book is THE "red pill" of modern politics,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
I began reading this book with a guarded mind, and kept up that guard throughout. Despite this, my basic view of this nation has been forever altered. To think that our elected officials sell us out is one thing. We almost expect it. To think that FDR or other prior officials sold us out is merely the logical extention of that. But to hear... and have shown... that the "revered" framers of our constitution deliberately sold us out? Well, let's just say you need to have a firm grasp of what you truly believe in, of what you truly believe is most important, before you pick this book up. If you say "my Constitution", you will be devestated... or worse yet, you will blind yourself to the truth and willfully ignore the perspective that best makes sense of the political confusion we experience today. Mr. 'Party' makes a near-ironclad case to show that we lost our freedoms because it was planned that way, within the legal ambiguities and false "checks" of the very document that we depended on to keep them. Granted, to depend on a piece of paper to keep our freedoms is a foolhardy position in the first place (Evil politician: "I can't do that... the Constitution SAYS I can't!" Suuure....) But then, I thought that way for the longest time, as I'm sure most people still do. As far as the book goes, I did have a few minor quibbles. It's not surprising that the author espouses Libertarianism, which I can't wholly embrace, and I admire the more creative ideas, but I think the dependence of many of those ideas on modern technology is unworkable and unwise (a governmental system shouldn't REQUIRE a specific technology in order to work.) And I'm just a tiny bit more leery of purely democratic elements than he is; I would have rather had the Senate remain (theoretically) a council of ambassadors from each state, but with their votes and actions dictated by their state legislatures. (And the idea to end suffrage upon receiving a government check is alluring, but not too much of an impediment, since their vote has ALREADY gotten them what they want.) Still, most of the book flows well, and is extremely eye-opening. The information and references to other resources is appreciated, and the book belongs on the bookshelf of anyone who truly wants to scan all perspectives for the truth. So read it... swallow the red pill... and see how deep the rabbit hole REALLY goes...

Acorns to oaks,

This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
Have you ever gone out in the evening and seen a full moon? It's been a few years, but while walking with a friend, he pointed up at the moon and asked if I could see the face of Marilyn Monroe. I laughed. He proceeded to point out her features, the line of her nose at six o'clock, her eyelids almost shut, "Isn't it delicious!" I've never looked at a full moon since without thinking about Marilyn Monroe and the night that a friend pointed her out to me, there all the time, though I failed to see it.
Reading Hologram of Liberty was like seeing Marilyn Monroe on the face of the moon, only it's our Constitution that makes me wonder if it is indeed, a hologram of liberty. Subtitled, "The Constitution's Shocking Alliance with Big Government," Hologram of Liberty is, as title and subtitle indicate, an unambiguous critique of the forging of our Constitution. The author, a.k.a. Boston T. Party, shares a quote from Lysander Spooner's, No Treason (1870): "The Constitution has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it." In the preface, Royce writes that Hologram of Liberty is his "most exciting, yet depressing, work" He writes about being surprised, puzzled, exhilarated, and horrified. Royce writes with energy, and his writing is often like the chop of a sharp axe in oak wood on a cold morning. You'll be puzzled, surprised, horrified, and in the end, probably energized. Royce writes in the preface that he wants his "unorthodox point illustrated (if not proven outright) through orthodox works." The footnotes are right there, in the text. The last couple chapters offer some tantalizing ideas concerning how one could begin to prune the "oaks of oppression under which we now suffer", as well as provide the reader with some historical facts about a "missing 13th amendment" and a sham 16th. At the back of the book, an appendix includes the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for the United States of America. And like the moon, it has taken on an entirely new look.

Can YOU Handle the truth?,
By John Q. Liberty (Midwest) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
Boston's "Hologram of Liberty" is both highly informative, yet very disturbing. Time to get disturbed! If liberties activists wonder why they constantly 'spin their wheels' against the beuracratic control machine, "Hologram" lays out precisely why, and in an easy-to-follow format as with all Boston T. Party books. America is a much different place than what we have been fooled into believing. The Matrix of deception has been pulled over our eyes, and we have been enslaved as mere batteries to the machines that control us. But we can, and will prevail in the end. Not only does "Mr. Royce" outline the problems w/ the constitutions framers own quotes and examples of why we are nearly under totalitarian control, but he offers real, and effective solutions based on those real problems. Now, if we could only get the socialists who run the schools to get this book to the kids, we'd have a formidable force for freedom and a return to liberty. Fat chance! Bottom line, get this book to everyone you know, fast! Thanks Ken, See ya on the frontlines...

Hologram of Liberty is a Revelation!,
By Lady Liberty (the American midwest) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
I picked up this book with some skepticism and a little trepidation. I've long been something of a fan of the Constitution and, though I'm no expert, I certainly have more knowledge about it than the average American does. But the research behind Hologram of Liberty was so extensive and with such attention to detail that I learned new things in every chapter. I also, largely against my will, found myself convinced that appearances are, indeed, deceiving. The beginning of the book is devoted to history. Writings by the Founding Fathers as well as excerpts from news reports of the day are mingled with segments of the Constitution and quotes from the Federalist Papers. With the evidence at hand and directly from participants and witnesses of the Constitutional Convention, Royce makes his case, and a compelling one it is. He says that his research has led him to conclude that "the Constitution and the Federal Government was the most protracted coup d'etat in history." In later chapters, Royce takes us up to the present day and describes how the Constitution is applied. More importantly, he offers suggestions as to how we might "make happier arrangements, while we still have at least our Bill of Rights." Hologram of Liberty is at times difficult to follow (I occasionally found myself re-reading certain paragraphs) due in no small part to the eloquent and slightly archaic English commonly used two centuries ago. But Royce's ability to distill information and to explain in simple terms various codicils and caveats is invaluable to those who want to learn more about the Constitution, its true intent, and just how it was the government got from there to here in two hundred years. Now that I've read Hologram of Liberty in its entirety, it's only served a small part of its intended purpose. As Royce so delicately puts it, "For over 200 years, we've been in blind love with an apparition, a hologram of liberty." Now that the blinders are off, I plan to keep the book readily at hand on the bookshelf in my office as a reference. I suspect it will prove almost as valuable the second and the twenty-second time around.

Understanding the New Leviathan,
By Charles S. Rebert (Coulterville, California U.S.A.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
Royce's "Hologram of Liberty" provides the best explanation I have seen concerning why we now live in a nation where flack-jacketed SWAT teams can kill you(accidentally, of course) on the mere suspicion that you possess drugs, with no consequence to themselves, and why all of your possessions can be confiscated without you being charged with a crime. The problem is primarily ideological and attitudinal--the peoples' belief in liberty was what supported the Constitutional idea for 200 years. But, Royce points out that the Constitution contains elements (Treaty clause, Interstate Commerce clause, Executive Orders, and others) that have enabled the statists and their accumulation of almost absoute power. The implication of Royce's extensive and erudite examination is that our Constitution is now more of a threat to than a protector of our liberty. The solution is primarily educational, but also to make fundamental changes to the Constitution, to make it what most citizens thought it was at the time of its writing (except the anti-federalists, of course). That seems to be the only road to salvation, but will require the focused efforts of all libertarian and conservative groups. "Hologram of Liberty" is the most important book I have read in forty years of libertarianism. I recommend it with great enthusiasm. The book needs greater exposure. Its theme is the key to arresting continued growth of the new leviathan.

The best book on the Constitution I ever read!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
Now THIS is a book you can sink your "mind's teeth" into! If you've ever wondered how we have come to suffer from a huge central government under a Constitution which was supposed to prevent such, then Hologram of Liberty is your book. I met Kenneth Royce (a.k.a. Boston T. Party) at an expo recently, and he confided that he considered Hologram his finest work. I agree. While I've greatly enjoyed his other more "how-to" titles (Good-Bye April 15th!, You & The Police!, Bulletproof Privacy, Boston on Guns & Courage, and Boston on Surviving Y2K), Hologram of Liberty is utterly unique and sweeping. He proves that the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia was tantamount to a coup d'etat which created a leviathan state over time. He then outlines the classic political solutions to Big Government (e.g., elections, constitutional amendments, a 3rd party, a virtuous constitutional convention, and 10th Amendment assertions by the states/people) and proves them to be fruitless. His ingenious solutions to a government which regulates everything from aprons to xylophones are the most fascinating proposals I've ever read in the subject of political science. This is a thoroughly original work, and quite honestly one of the best books I've ever had the pleasure to read. I really can't say enough about Hologram of Liberty!

Lets Wake Up to Reality,
By Teddy "Support the Truth" (Amherst, Ma) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hologram of Liberty: The Constitution's Shocking Alliance With Big Government (Paperback)
This book woke me up from my parchment worshipping slumber. This will definately change the way you view the Constitution and our Founding Fathers. If you believe that our current government is violating the Constitution and overstepping the strict checks and balances that were designed to keep it under control, you better think again:
"The Constitution has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it." - Lysander Spooner - No Treason We must understand that the Constitution was never designed to protect us from Federal tyranny run amok. If you can handle the truth no matter how hard it may be to swallow, read this book. |
