5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful sample of Holst for Chorus & Orchestra December 6, 2009
Gustav Holst is much more than The Planets. He created very good
works for orchestra, and works for chorus & orchestra. This is a
wonderful CD that shows his art in this genre. Very recommendable.

This music is sublime. The third group of Hymns from the Rig Veda, in particular, is in no way inferior to Holst's best passages from The Planets. It also documents a fascinating interplay between Western music and the study of the Vedas, casting insight onto one of the influences that most marked the young Holst's spiritual development.
