5.0 out of 5 stars "The book that launched a Revolution"
If I could only have one book to read for the rest of my life, it would be The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries. And if you are a Woman, interested in Women's Mysteries, this book will inspire you to reconnect your very soul with the Goddess. The more I read, and re-read this book, the more strength and healing knowledge I acquire for myself, and Women everywhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Book
It is a great book but not one to start with. Someone who has read some material before and knows more on the path is probably better equiped to discern the valid information in this book. Don't get me wrong it is a great book as I already have stated with a lot to learn from and a way of thinking original and worth exploring but as time has passed from the first...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Book That Started It All, December 1, 2007
By
This review is from: The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries (Paperback)
In a world full of metaphysical crap, this this is the one to read. Hands-down, Zsuzanna is the best. She is the real thing, a real witch from a long line of Hungarian witches. The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries is sadly an almost total unknown spiritual classic. If you have any intrest in Paganism, Goddess-craft, or Feminist Wicca this is the book for you.
I was introduced to this book by a good friend, and have taken every oppertunity to pass THBOWM on to others.
This book will change your life, I promise.
All of Zsuzanna Budapest's books are incredible and well worth reading, but this is her masterpiece.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic Revisited!!, December 5, 2007
By
This review is from: The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries (Paperback)
This is the re-publication of a timeless classic. Z has incorporated new material and photos. The photos of Masika's (Z's Mom) sculptures shows the talent that this line of Women have been blessed with. All Dianic homes should have a copy of this as reference material. The Holy Book is easy to read and understand. Feminists and Women world wide can relate to the various topics and appreciate the old ways of celebration of the Holy Days that have been shared here even if they have not chosen the Dianic path as their own. This work has and will continue to withstand time!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Empowering, December 29, 2007
This review is from: The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries (Paperback)
Z. Budapest, one of (perhaps I could even presume to say the "primary") the foremothers of the contemporary Women's Spirituality Movement has just released the third revision to her book, The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries . It was this book which probably saved my life and got me out of an abusive relationship by teaching me how to empower myself. It is far more than just a "self-help" book, however. In my own opinion, this is probably as close to "scripture" as any pagan will ever get. There, I said it, flog me. (No, not really! Notice I said "as close to" -- please notice that qualifier!)

Beautiful Goddess-Woman, Z. gives us the tools to find the Goddess within each of us in this book filled with ancient and practical wisdom, anecdotes, and women's history. Every time I read this book, I learn something new about the Goddess, the world and/or myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grandmother of Women's Wisdom, December 19, 2007
This review is from: The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries (Paperback)
This book is a treasure house of wisdom in the tradition of old Europe, that was largely lost to human-kind after the middle ages passed. For that reason alone, women should cherish it. In Z's voice, we hear our grandmothers speaking, sharing their knowledge of herbs with us, showing us how to read the cards when times are confusing, teaching us to trust ourselves and our inner knowing. Great for discovering or re-discovering the Goddess in ourselves, in the world.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Goddess is Alive!, September 21, 2010
By
This review is from: The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries (Paperback)
This is a beautifully and carefully orchestrated introduction to Womens' Mysteries. Zsuzsanna Budapest walks the reader through the process of getting to know the Goddess on a personal level. She writes in everyday laymens terms and has a great sense of humor as well. In this book you'll find Goddess theory from a feminist perspective that is relatable to anyone, beautiful songs, prayers, and incantantations as well. Budapest also explores the the ways in which women relate and respond to our surroundings on a physical and spiritual level. This book however, is not the only source of information of the femenine principle of the universe and can be quite narcissistic in its apporach to Women's Mysteries. You must remember, Budapest is a feminist and her writing reflects those values that she personally holds dear. Neverthless, I think there is something valuable for any reader to attain because wisdom and inspiration come in all forms!

This review is from: The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries (Paperback)
I bought the 1st edition of this book almost 10 years ago and felt so blessed to find a book that is feminist in view point. The information and knowledge that is contained in this book is amazing! This book is a must for anyone wanting to connect with the Goddess and their inner Goddess. I will be purchasing the new edition as well. I can't wait to see what Z. has put in the new edition!!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Earlier Women's Spirituality Books, Revisited, December 2, 2007
This review is from: The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries (Paperback)
This is a quality update of one of the very first books on women's spirituality that I read as a teenager. I recommend it to most women new to feminist spirituality, as it covers a lot of topics with gentle humor, love, and compassion.

The time is perfect for books like this. It is time that honor and respect were returned to the feminine in all of us.
