About the Author

Pens and Needles is the result of a collaborative effort of three people. Weldon Boyd, created the original plot in the back of his head while performing his daytime passion of coding script. Several years after sharing the idea with his business partner's family, sixteen-year-old Hannah Green demanded once again, that he write it. This time Weldon agreed, but only if she got it started. Her dad, Walt helped document Weldon's plot line and characters, all of which quickly became subject to Hannah's review- and revision. The group traded ideas, paragraphs and scenes, then compiled them- reviewing them together, over and over. The story quickly jumped to life and became- and still remains- a part of daily conversation between the Greens and Boyds.

The plot is intriguing...just the idea itself is worth the read. Great characters, action scenarios, and descriptive settings. Storyline similar to that of a Robert Ludlum type...it is the authors' first book so expecting great things to come! I am an avid reader and this book definitely made my internal intrigue alarm sound! Would be interested in a sequel...

This book is definitely worth getting if you like a fast-paced action-adventure - perfect to pack for vacation or for an up-all-night read. I'm giving it five stars because it is a near-perfect example of it's type... The plot was carefully structured, the characters of interest to readers both young young and mature... The quasi-religious/academic underpinning reminded me of the Dan Brown novels "Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons", but didn't take over the atmosphere of the scenes that the authors set. Ranging from private school to the Canadian maritimes, to ocean voyages to intrigue in Europe, the young protagonists are totally believable and the villains are satisfyingly classic.
