If you wern't born in the east... THIS is the ONE Koran you want!
( If every westerner read this Koran there would be less paranoia about Christianity: Essence, History, and Futureit.)

Some versions of the koran were interpreted with a anti- western bias.
NOW comes one written by a western scholar which is well written with proper words and phrases chosen to convey the true meaning in English to westerners while being true to the original text.

Delightful to read. Readers not familiar with Islam will be surprised how much Old Testament material is kindly embraced in the Koran . Christians will be surprised by it's understanding of the Mesiah... usually more correct than the bishop of Rome's. See The book of The Imrans p31...on

When Muhamed seeks to "correct" beliefs and actions of "The People of the Book'
one has to remember that he had met mostly Jewish Christians who had fled to syria and northern Irac after being thrown out of the temple about 60AD.
They continued their Jewish traditions along with their belief in the mesiah and he found this contradictory.

I love this version of Quran. I have been searching, and searching for a english translation of the Quran.
I have had this burning desire to read the Quran, but I don't understand nor can't I follow the
English of "thee, thou, aught" etc of traditional Qurans. After reading the first chapters I finally
realized what I had been missing.

This Quran is written in plain old American everyday English. The author had you and me in mind
when this Quran came around. Thank you, thank you Amazon for carrying it.
I have bought two (2) Qurans, one for the office and one for my home. Today I am so, so happy.

Was expecting to get a translation of the most beautiful book ever writin.

I thinkg it was lost in the translation. Lookin for another translation.

many years ago when i was in the army i read the quran but could not grasp all there was with in it. im not sure if that was to propagandize me as a soldier or what but it was very different and strang to me. i am very impressed with the understanding that i have received from this great effort put in to this translation. like a reviewer wrote before me a must read for those not born in the east.

I am a theology student and was dissapointed this text did not have an index.
