This review is from: Holy Man (Audio CD)
Although Holy Man is an excellent song, its not your best chance to hear One Minute Silence at their best. You need to own their two full-length CDs Available In All Colors and Buy Now...Saved Later (which Holy Man is featured on) to do that. This song was the bands main single for their second release, yet its not as good as Fish Out Of Water. Also, Buy Now...Saved Later (here on Amazon) features the two bonus tracks on this single: 14 Years and I Feel Nothing. The CD that I own does not, which is why I looked for the two extras in the first place. So if your copy also doesnt have those songs, then this is the premiere place to find them... But if you already own the full-length album with 14 Years and I Feel Nothing, theres absolutely no point in purchasing this single. Unless you are an OMS collector. On the other hand, if you dont have the two b-sides then certainly get this. I Feel Nothing is actually one of the bands better songs; as its lyrics operate in the vein of anything off Buy Now... or even Available In All Colors. And the same goes for 14 Years. In the end, this CD-single is really only worth buying if you are a huge One Minute Silence fan or are looking for any of their rare b-sides. If you know little about OMS, possibly because of Holy Man, I highly recommend you start your listening of them with Available In All Colors. Their debut is your best chance to hear the bands greatest mix of politically-fronted lyrics and heavy rock music. Buy Now...Saved Later may be a tiny step down musically (with a new guitarist); and a step up lyrically from their debut. Even so, you need both to completely enjoy One Minute Silence. This single is really nothing special, unless you want it to be.
