I've been listening to this album since the day it came out. I happened to work with some of the artists and engineer who recorded the album and had heard that it was something special. So as soon as it was released I bought a copy. One of the best instrumental album's I have ever heard, PERIOD. If you are looking for glorious Christmas music, and enjoy a good violin solo, buy this and buy it now. The first track, "Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella" is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I listen to this track all year round. It still makes me cry when I hear it. Jenny never plays the pieces exactly as you expect and brings her own personality and virtuosity to each piece. The bigger orchestral pieces benefit from Kurt Bestor's top-notch orchestration. I'm not sure who all the musicians were, but the engineers were some of the best guys I know and it shows. The quality of the recording and the mics used is palpable.

Listen to this lossless, if you have to listen on an iPod then rip it to Apple Lossless for the love of all that is holy. This deserves to be heard on a good sound system.

The bad; nothing I can think of. A few of the songs didn't grab me as much but this is only noticeable because 2-3 of the tracks are some of my favorite recordings of all time, the other tracks have a tough time standing out.

Saw an article in the Washington Post about Jenny...previewed this CD on amazon...customer reviews raved, add me to the list! Amazing instrumentals and solos...was imagining how incredible it would be to see Jenny Baker in concert! Highly recommend...

I have placed this and Jenny Oaks Baker's other music among my favorites. Jenny Oaks Baker is excellent.
