Gin voice is unlike anything I've listened to in the past. To me it's very infrequent to find artists that cut new teeth and set a style all their own. She is definitely talented and entertaining.

She is very versatile and talented she has a sound that channels Adele and Amy Winehouse. Then she also has a rock sound as well. There's something for everyone I am very pleased with this one and look forward to hearing lots more from this artist in the future. It helped that I heard Hey Ho on the Weeds series and had to check this one out after that. Glad I did and would recommend this one to anyone if you like good music.

We say Gin with Jamie Cullum at Chateau St Michelle in Woodland, WA last night and bought her album on the spot. Great show, amazing voice and full of spunk, that girl is! Sounds along the lines of Adele, whom I adore, but with a rockabilly feel. Buy this album! It's great!

I love chick singers from New Zealand! Check out Beth Hart too! Holy Smoke is an Excellent Album. " Oh My" is an amazingly catchy song!

Wow, this CD from Gin Wigmore is everything I expected and more. She has an amazing voice and every song is great, good kiwi music, but just good music.

I bought this CD on a whim because I like Amy Winehouse, Lilly Allen, Florence and the Machines, etc. and I loved it!! She has a great raspy voice and lyrics similar to Amy Winehouse but you can really rock out to most of the songs. I almost never like every single song off an album, I think I could only name about 10 or 15 that I have and Holy Smoke is one of them. If you like Amy Winehouse you will like Gin Wigmore even more!!

This is a very good CD. Comparisons are obvious, but it is not fair, in my view, to critise an artist for belonging to a particular genre. In the contemporary world of female smooth jazz artists, there is room for Gin. Her voice is interesting and I like it. What I like best, are the lyrics. I look forward to more.

This woman is amazingly good live! If you get a chance, do go to see her. The album holds up well with the best tracks being Hey Ho and Oh My but I've been playing the whole album for the past month and all the tracks have grown on me.

This album is great!! I just wish I had caught her live as some of the other reviewers have.

I just saw Gin Wigmore open up for Jamie Cullum and immediately wanted to find more. She's witty and fun and her musical talents are clear. This CD is a great follow-up to her EP (Extended Play) and illustrates both slow, soulful songs and upbeat catchy tunes... I especially like "Too Late for Lovers," "Hey Ho" (about killing a lover), and "Don't Stop."

One surprising observation (especially for today's music scene) is that I actually found some of these tracks over-produced for Gin's talents. I thought she was actually better live with some songs than the tracks that made it on recording. Definitely recommend checking her concerts out.
