This unknown opera deserves renown, October 24, 2004

I am a lover of baroque music, particularly opera and oratorios. Sometimes I venture a little beyond the baroque period, and I confess I bought this work solely on a whim. I have found it to be an absolutely beautiful work, easily the equal of any of Mozart's operas. In fact Mozart himself highly praised the music according to the booklet. I am not a musician so I cannot tell you the fine points of this work. I can only say that all of the singers and Michael Schneider's La Stagione perform it admirably. I am unabashedly a soprano lover, and I found the singing of Claron McFadden as Anna to be without peer. I urge you to add this magnificent work to your collection. I have owned it only a short time and I have already played it in its entirety a half a dozen times.
