My biggest complaint is how Homak packages it.
Rollin' Deuces on Da Blinga'
It is barely enough room for 2 rifles with scopes. and the bottom hinge can easily scratch the stocks if you don't use care.
Blake C
It was pretty well made, sturdy locks and very tall.

The safe is good for storage and keeping prying eyes out, but any semi-professional burglar with an uninterrupted 15 minutes alone in your home could get in this unit by either disabling the simple lock or by cutting through the thin door face. Consider this safe akin to a lock box that you bolt to a wall stud to keep a thief from easily hauling it off.

That said, it's fine for what I purchased it for, which was to keep my firearms out of the reach of kids. My biggest complaint is how Homak packages it. The most vulnerable parts of the safe are the edges of the front of the safe that are seated over the drywall. These are also the visible parts of the safe. Homak packs the unit in styrofoam, but is stingy around the edges, putting only about a quarter-inch of styrofoam on these edge pieces. As UPS is notorious for doing, mine arrived with two of the corners of the box having been broken open from rough handling, with some of the styrofoam exposed. The result was two bent corners that had to get knocked back into place with some pliers and a mallet. As the thing went into the back of my closet anyway, and weighs a good 50 pounds, I wasn't going to pay to have the thing shipped back to the seller over a cosmetic issue I could jury-rig. Buyers who want their safe to look good in the wall, however, may be in for a surprise when it arrives.

Homak needs to put some actual packing around the most vulnerable part of this safe or pick a shipper with a better reputation than UPS if it wants to skimp on the styrofoam.

The safe was more than adequite for the price. It was pretty well made, sturdy locks and very tall. Tall enough to install a shelf and a couple of pistol hooks. You might get 3 rifles in it if there are no scopes attached. Only 2 assault type rifles will fit due to the pistol grips sticking out. This won't be a bullet proof safe (pun intended) as far as thief's....its not that thick of steel that a skill saw couldn't just open it up but it will keep my kids out of my weapons and does not take up any space.
The packaging was not adequite and the safe showed up buckled. they only use crappy Styrofoam on the corners which breaks quickly allowing the edges to blow through the box. One flange was bent like a taco. All the powder coat had popped off. Shipping long distance by Ground at 65LBS in a crappy box will be a gamble....#2 is on its way...we'll see.

First off, let me say I'm happy with this so far. It does exactly what I need it to do, keeps my rifles locked up and away from the kids. It's easy to hide and doesn't take up much space.

I think this would have been easier had I not been installing it in my closet. Oh, and the fact the studs were a half inch too narrow didn't help. I ended up using some cut-off 2/4s horizontally that I wedged up top and at the bottom to widen the space slightly. As far as screwing it in, the outside is cake. Drill your pilot holes, then drive in the lag screws. The four holes on the inside are a bit trickier. A compact driver/drill would be better than the old Makita 9.6 I was using. Just couldn't quiet get the right angle, but forced it and eventually got the screws is.

The cabinet is rated for 3 rifles. Only plan for 2 if you have any scopes becaue they'll have to fit sideways. Comes with 4 keys and seems very solid. Perfect for someone who only has a few rifles, who doesn't have space for a large safe and doesn't want to spend at least $400 on one.

Sturdy construction with dual locks. Relatively inexpensive and easy to install. Space inside could be a tight fit for some uses, but works OK for me.

The safe itself looks good for an inexpensive wall safe. It looks like it will fulfill my needs very well. I will find out how easily it installs when its replacement arrives.
The first one arrived with damage to one corner that I attribute to inadequate packaging. Box is flimsy and not enough supporting materials around the equipment. Powder coating popped right off. In retrospect I should have heeded the previous reviews that I had read but felt that it couldn't be that bad. I was wrong.
Company was good about scheduling the return and replacement.
If the second one also comes in damaged I'll be requesting a refund.

As others have said, due to the minimalist packaging from the factory, this item WILL arrive with dents or bent down corners, and "one of the most durable finishes in the business" will be flaking off from the abuse. Also note that the locking mechanism are two separate locks - you have to theoretically lock/unlock it twice (once for the lock on the top, again for the lock on the bottom) to fully use the unit. At least both locks take the same key.

To be honest, I would buy it again anyway as it suits my purposes: a relatively low profile in-the-wall long gun safe that can be placed just about anywhere. The strong points of this unit are primarily its low cost (around $130 shipped), it's size (basically one AR will fit, two shotguns if you are not using optics or lights), and the fact that it's kid-safe: it's enough to keep nosy children away from your weapon.

It is NOT a safe in the sense that it will prevent anyone with a crowbar from opening it up in under 30 seconds, but of course you get what you pay for. This is more about discretion and not being noticed (such as being placed in a closet, etc) than true security. It is also not fast to open, but you can just utilize one lock given the above points. Also, it really should come with a door handle - you have to use the key in the lock to pull the door open.
