A great work that should not be labeled anything but Rock!,
By Manuel Martinez (Place is not important) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hombre Sintetizador (Audio CD)
I must admit I bought the album because of its cover. Great art design that is congruent with the work inside.I did not expect to find the high quality rock this CD contains. From the very first accords you know this is not the usual "latin pop" or "Rock en español" album. This work reminds of, but never imitates, Pink Floyd on its better years. It has some unusual and refreshing songs, like "Cuantos Pasos", and some real tight rock acts, like "No encuentro la manera" and "Si me adverti", the latter being, for me, the best song of this CD. Lyrics are simple but intelligent, and coherent with the mood and sound of the album. Non-spanish speaking listeners need not to worry. You will enjoy the songs just the same.Sound quality is very good, so maybe you will be surprised by knowing most of the album was recorded and produced in Monterrey, Mexico, home-town of this band. Pure Rock groups seem to be out of favor these days. Nevertheless, part of this may be due to the lack of new bands and quality productions from old ones. Maybe we should start looking south of the border (and across the pond) for new sounds and groups to refresh the pure rock scene. Attention music stores: Please DO NOT place this album under the "Latin music", "Mexican music" or even "Rock en Espanol" sections. This album should only be labeled Rock. Don't worry. Unsuspected shoppers will not feel misleaded.

I can't believe that no one has written a review for this album before!!! This album has be out for almost five year, and in my humble opinion, it's one of the masterpieces of "Rock en Español". Its music is vey varied, ranging from trippy, to pop, to electronic, to grunge to just "plain great rock". Give it a chance. Try to download "Luna" and "Abre los Ojos" to get a preview of the treat you are in for.
