5.0 out of 5 stars Tribute to Mia Zapata
This great, feminist, grunge collection is a very suitable tribute to slain Gits singer, Mia Zapata. No particular statements, and no really unusual cuts. Nirvana contributed a cut, but it was already out on album when this compilation was released (and Kurt was already dead). Still this is a great compilation for Mia's supporters, and made by people with great heart.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disapointing!
This CD has all good names on it. However, besides the Nirvana's and Pearl Jam's and Soundgarden's and whatnot, this CD is horrible. It is filled with foolish talk and stand up comic routines. It is a 2 CD set and you have to search for the good stuff. It is NOT worth the money to buy this CD for the "good stuff"...The Album is screwed up. Go buy a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, January 13, 2003
By A Customer
Outstanding bands, outstanding spoken word. Hard to believe after all this time it looks like the murderer was caught. On Jan 10, 2003 through DNA evidence someone was arrested.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm..., June 19, 2002
By A Customer
Quoting a previous review: "It is an absolute waste of money to buy this CD" - yea, you get a sampling of the best of Seattle's mainstream and underground musical/spoken-word acts, and worst of all...the proceeds go to the Home Alive fund which works to promote safety through self-defense and find the rapist and murderer of Gits frontwoman Mia Zapata. What a waste indeed. A good cause, some good bands. The music is interupted for spoken word interludes by the likes of Jello Biafra and Exene Cervenka. Hardly stand-up comedy, but probably confusing to some mainstream rock kid just looking for rare Nirvana or Pearl Jam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff Still, June 23, 2011
Heading to Seattle tomorrow for the first time and listened to this today for the first time in years. And found myself wondering how it ever fell out of my normal listening rotation. Great music from bands I know and some I've never heard of not being a local. Highly recommend if you like that Seattle Northwest sound from the late 80's early 90's. Also found it cool that Mia went to school (and started her band) in Yellow Springs, Ohio which is near where I'm from.

Felt the need to write a review and try to balance the negative one from someone who apparently has a bone to pick if he didn't know an artist previously.

Go buy a real album like Incesticide (Nirvana) or Superunknown (Soundgarden). It is an absolute waste of money to buy this CD. If you could get it for $3.00 it may be worth it, but, stay clear of this toxic crap!!
