After seeing the movie, I figured I must have missed something because I found myself rooting for the bad guys, so I went out to get the book to see if it was just me or if Kevin McAllister really was the piece of garbage he was portrayed to be in the movie. After reading the novelization I've realized that I was wrong and young Kevin was just misunderstood. The novel really delved into the reason behind Kevin's actions and how he dealt with his family going on vacation without him twice. I really would have liked if the bad guys' characters were more developed. I would have loved to have know about the inner struggle going on inside of the Sticky Bandits. I feel like that there was really something there with that, maybe I should start writing Home Alone 2: Lost in New York fan fiction so I can maybe work out what the Sticky Bandits really want with young Kevin. I'm going to take a break in writing this review to write my fan fiction. Ok I'm back and boy oh boy did I go on a journey with these characters. What an odyssey this comment has been. Because I took a break in the middle of it to write my fan fiction it has taken me nine months to complete this and what a nine months its been. I lost my job, I got a dog, and as of writing this comment I'm becoming something of a star on the fan fic message boards. So I want to thank all of you but especially this novelization of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York because without it, I wouldn't have lost my job, and if I hadn't lost my job I wouldn't have had the time to spend cultivating this literary talent I apparently possess.
