This item is NOT the full CD. Amazon has mistakenly forgotten to label this as a SINGLE. There are only 3 tracks on this disc. Amazon does NOT offer the full album. If you want the full album, you must order it from Amazon Japan (amazon.co.jp) or CD Japan (cdjapan.co.jp).

Angela Aki's claim to fame is her half-and-half heritage, which allows her to screech her cliched, trite lyrics about the same old relationship/feeling/love topics in two languages. In Japan, banging on a piano and tonelessly hollering in Japanese is good enough for a few months' fame, Angela shamelessly exploits her whiteness to score points with a country still...

I love Angela Aki music, but the support I received from Amazon regarding this product was very poor. When I was unable to return the item through the website without being charged for shipping for THEIR mislabeling, I called the customer support hotline, only to have the support technician confirm that this product page is wrong AND try to charge me for return shipping anyway. It is ridiculous to be charged for Amazon.com's negligence.

For those seriously interested in paying $18 for three songs (cdjapan.co.jp has this item for $10), the tracks are:
1. HOME
2. KISEKI
3. Will You Dance

Cap'n Stoob "Stoob"'s one star review just floored me! It's like he's describing a different singer than I've been listening to!

I discovered Angela Aki by chance on YouTube several months ago and was struck by her passionate singing and piano playing onstage. She has a beautiful voice and sings flawless English and Japanese with emotion and heart.

Yes, she is half Japanese and half Italian American, born in Japan and raised in the US. Yes, she has said Tori Amos is one of her major influences. Yes, I agree the Japanese are fascinated and obsessed with most things American. But that is not what makes Angela successful there. It's her talent! But don't take my word for it, check it out yourself. Search and watch her live performances on YouTube!

Just FYI, Angela Aki was already on an independent label in the US before moving back to Japan. However, talented Asian singers have a hard time cracking the western music market long dominated by white and black artists. So they move overseas where they are better appreciated.

Good or bad, American or western style music has permeated ALL of Asia not just Japan! Half-half singers or western grown Asian singers are also popular in Korea, Taiwan, HK, China, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.

Anyway, I have almost all of Angela's CDs. This is a compilation of songs from previous 'singles'. My favorites are MUSIC, Love is Over Now and This Love.

5.0 out of 5 stars passionate, uplifting poprock, November 5, 2007

Despite what one of the previous reviewers wrote, this is the polar opposite of "emo" or "wailing."

Such descriptions of this album prompts me to doubt whether or not the said poster is entirely knowledgeable of the meaning of the term "emo" as it applies to musical genres. Neither lyrics nor vocals are over-emotional. Angela Aki draws her influence, rather, from the likes of Tori Amos, Paula Cole, and Sarah Mclachlan, but while keeping the virtuoso piano playing like Amos and Mclachlan, her music is never depressing, overly comtemplative or sad, but suffused with an optimistic and uplifting energy.

I recommend this album for anyone interested in sampling contemporary Japanese music, or anyone who is just interested in the joyful compositions of this amazing songstress.

I don't know what happened with the customer who didn't get all the songs, but my CD has 13 songs on it, and despite Stoob's madness, they're all very good. Ms. Aki has seen some hard times, obviously, and I love that her music isn't wallowing, it recognizes that life has hard points and moves on, sounding hopeful and triumphant. I find both her piano and voice lovely, though I realize there's broad ranges of tastes.

But I don't see how anyone could have actually listened to this same CD and concluded that nothing on it was worth listening to. I wonder if perhaps Stoob was hearing him/herself trying to sing along? I know, it's hard not to try, but who could match Angela?

Anyway, I hear Angela here and there as I listen to anime channels on Internet radio, and so far the CDs I've gotten, including this one, have been wonderful, this is the good stuff. I would love to catch her on tour (I'd have to bring a towel for all my snifflin' though!). Man, imagine seeing her do "Your Love Song" live! I think I'd have a stroke. I'm listening to it right now, and I may be a big tough looking guy, but it always tugs at me. Well, here's a list of what I had on my CD:

1) Kiss Me Good-Bye
2) Love Is Over Now
3) Kokoro no Senshi
4) Music
5) This Love
6) Onegai
7) Uchuu ('' Universe? Space?)
8) Rain
9) Miracle
10) Oogesa ni Aishiteru
11) '''' (Hallelujiah)
12) Home
13)Your Love Song

In Japan, banging on a piano and tonelessly hollering in Japanese is good enough for a few months' fame, Angela shamelessly exploits her whiteness to score points with a country still obsessed with ANYTHING American/Western. In the US, she wouldn't rate a small-town karaoke club, but in Japan, knowing English and Japanese makes for serious sales at the ticket office.

This entire CD is forgettable and bears no repetition. I returned my rented copy immediately after the CD finished and I wanted to write to the music company and demand compensation for the wasted time.

In the US, we already have Tori Amos, who sings and plays MUCH better than Angela. I suppose it's better for the US if she STAYS over here.

Odious. Simply odious.
