Not what it used to be - poor support,

I used 3D ten years ago successfully, but since I have vista, I had to repurchase. This version has zero online how to support. The manual and included help menus are incomplete and identical. Options that are mentioned in help do not exist in the software (apparently it was a problem in version 9 too according to the forum). I do not recommend this software, try the free Google version instead maybe. But this is a great disappointment when their information is wrong, a needed feature is not available, and no support or update possible. Issue: Wall dimensions default to measure from the center of a wall, rather than from the surface - and you can not change it as the manual says, the option is not in the menu. Wasted my money.

objects that seem missing (Mac OS 10.4),

I am just starting, installation was easy except that the registration number you get online and not in the way that is described in the manual. Tutorials are good. I was able to build the first floor easily until I had to go to the objects library. Drop down menu, that I am supposed to get when, say, in "bath" or any other place, does not appear. I can get objects where the drop down menu should not appear, say, in the "garage". The guide and their posted Q&A were no help, contacted the customer service, and am supposed to get the reply in one business day (today is Saturday, so I guess Monday). It turns out, you have to click not on the "bath", but on the little gray triangle next to it - then everything appears. The 3d camera snap shot is NOT available for this version.

This product will not give dimensions from the outside of a wall surface. It will only dimension from the center of walls. The instruction book says you have that option when in reality you do not. I e-mailed customer support about this issue and it took them over a month to finally respond and tell me that this was not an option. To me, the whole point of having such a program is to eliminate as much as possible having to manually figure dimensions and this product does not do that. It's obviously a mistake in the software design because they give this option in the instruction book. When I asked customer support if it would be possible to create an update to solve this issue that could be downloaded from their web site all they did was thank me for my feedback which obviously does nothing for me as a user. Who knows what else might be wrong with the software design. Poor product performance+poor customer support= extremely dissatisfied customer!

This product is probably fine for many people. For my purposes, I just need an application to design floor plans. In many ways, this product is overkill. Some years ago, I worked with a very early version of this product and it was perfect for my needs. Unfortunately, with the tenth version, they have added lots of bells and whistles (landscaping, 3-D, etc.), but some of the simple-to-use features of the early versions have disappeared. If I could find an early version that works on OSX (no such thing!), I would buy it.

I'm so mad that I wasted my money on this thing. When I installed it, my computer crashed. When I started it back up, all of my word files and pictures were gone and I couldn't even get them back through a system restore. I bought this version thinking that it was an improvement on the older version and it's definitely not - it's much more difficult to use.

Dead ?,

This product seems to have died although there are a lot of copies of it for sale.It possibly has come back to life as "Punch! Home and Landscape Design". Either way, it does not appear that there is any support available.

This product in mac version is "crap" to be quite frank! I've used the windows version and it's ok. The mac version is rubbish. It's not user friendly. When using the video help, it shows the windows version of help. Very disappointing. Steer clear. Don't waste your $50 like l did!

Software is not user friendly, confusing and import of PDF does not work so I basically had to start from scratch to recreate the house plans I already had. I gave up using this program after 3 hours of going back and forth between the manual and program and never even finished getting my house plans re-created. I bought the software to cusomize what options I'd like to do to my new house but I'll probably never use it again.

This is a case where the old axiom "you get what you pay for" is accurate. The site touts this application as being the "ultimate easy-to-use home and landscape design solution..", and as having a complete set of tools that "will allow you to modify every detail..." This couldn't be further from the truth. The tools are simplistic to the point that I would equate this with your average piece of freeware. The available objects in the library are very basic (cabinet doors, for example, are just flat boards with a simple handle) and can only be adjusted with the included texture images. The "Cabinet Wizard" does let you create cabinets to a specific size, but there is no adjustment of the handles or face-styles. You can import objects, but only those saved in Punch's 'pob' format, so if you don't own Punch Via Cad or something similar you are out of luck. You can't add your own texture images. They have a set of color palettes, but while you can adjust the included colors you can't create a palette or add to an existing palette. Worst part of it is that they don't offer ANY refunds. My recommendation is that you skip this product.
