Book Description

August 10, 2009
Do It Yourself ... Easy!

Every homeowner knows that if you wait long enough, a home project will pop up. Whether out of need (broken light switch), or because of a want (a dimmer switch to improve the ambience), there are always electrical projects around the house.

For most homeowners, household fix-it projects aren't a daily occurrence, and the knowledge to perform even some of the simplest projects isn't common knowledge.

For author Ron Hazleton, these projects are daily occurrences and in this book he walks you, step-by-step, through the most basic and most common electrical projects all homeowners will encounter. Even if you've never picked up a screwdriver, you'll be able to easily follow the steps to electrical home repairs and improvements.

Projects in this book include:

  • Adding a new outlet or switch
  • Install low-voltage outdoor lighting
  • Replacing a light fixture
  • Install a programmable thermostat
  • Install a ceiling fan

This book offers easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions on how to complete both simple and more advanced home electrical projects. Not only are the descriptions well written and comprehensible even for the novice DIYer, but the photographs that accompany every single instruction are exceptionally helpful, too. I would recommend this book to anyone starting out with home improvement and anyone who has ever been intimidated by electrical projects (especially women, like myself). A great read and a valuable addition to any home improvement library!

Very Basic January 26, 2011
Format:Hardcover-spiral|Amazon Verified Purchase
If I wanted to teach a midddle school student how to make electrical repairs, this book is perfect for them. I am by no means a handy man but this book was way too basic to be helpful. Returning the book is not an option either. After the return shipping and restocking fee, you will pay more than the original price.
