5.0 out of 5 stars Still their best, August 19, 1999
This review is from: Home (Audio CD)
I've had this CD since it's release and can still listen to in over and over. I can't say enough about it. Though I own and love each of their CD's, this is still my favorite. Everyone is familiar with "I Believe" and most have heard "Let me be the One" but this album offers a wide selection ranging from religious to secular, upbeat to gentle, simple to deep. The acoustic sets are beautiful and songs such as "oh virginia" get you tapping your feet in an instant. This album has so much heart and a helluva lot of soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great soulful debut, June 18, 2004

This CD came out when I was 12 yrs old, I loved it then and I love it now. The lead singer's voice is beautiful and captivating. Musically, they are diverse and most importantly, these guys got soul. BUS has great musical arrangements and lyrics that are rarely heard in modern day popular music. "Would You Be There" will make you want to dance, "Nora" will have you in tears, "Home" will put a smile on your face, and "I Believe" will give you perspective. There is a strong spiritual vibe at times, which usually is not my thing, but they aren't preachy at all - the lyrics are all about love and peace, something the world is in deperate need of. This debut is truly a showcase of sincere, fresh optimism expressed through a mixture of rock and soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of those CD's you always take with you, October 25, 2003

I still to this day don't know what made me buy this CD but I am SO glad I did! I truly believe this is the finest example of song writing I've ever had the privilege to listen to. The first time I played the CD I stopped and sank to the floor and did noting but close my eyes and listen to the music. I think I played nothing but "Home" for the first three months. The whole album is thought provoking and deeply moving. But my favorite tracks are "All Along" and "Let Me Be The One" This is the one CD that you MUST have.

5.0 out of 5 stars They are the best, July 19, 2000

I think this album offers alot to anyone, whether they've heard any of BUOS songs or not. I only heard one of their songs in America last summer, and I was hooked. I've got all of their albums and, frankly, they are all great. I love "Home", with it's deep and meaningful song lyrics, that not many bands today have. My favourite song is Nora. Everytime I listen to it, it just gets better. I would recommend any of BUOS's albums, whether you've heard their music or not. If you just want music to relax to, or you want songs that you can relate to, buy their albums. They are, quite simply, great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mind music, June 6, 2001

This review is from: Home (Audio CD)
The simple, individual songs of this album give way to great themes and a complexity that comes from this album as a whole. From beginning to end, each song blends well with the others and inspires the lister to really think about what the artists are yearning for/about/towards, yet it's not whiny or in your face. BUOS has a soulful quality that lets you take the music wherever suits you best. For this reason every time you listen to it, you find new things to hear and understand; some songs never stop touching you. The song "Nora" still brings me to tears and "Oh, Virginia" is everything a joyful homecoming should be. Obviously their first, but indicative of some of the great things they are capable of achieving in the future. Music for mind and soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Home", a CD by Blessid Union Of Souls., September 7, 2010
This review is from: Home (Audio CD)
This is a great soulful/pop debut album by this underrated band 'Blessid Union Of Souls' titled "Home" released in 1995. The CD has classics/gems/hits including "I Believe", "Let Me Be The One", "Nora", "End Of The World", "Forever For Tonight" & "Lucky To Be Here". Other notable songs include "All Along", "Oh Virginia", "Would You Be There" , "Home" & "Heaven". This then has covered all 11 tracks from this CD & thus the album has no weak track to really talk of, a great feat for a debut album! The inspiring story on how they landed their recording deal is legendary. A solid, soulful/pop album with well deserved 5 stars, highly recommended listening!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest albums ever!, March 26, 2005
This review is from: Home (Audio CD)
I remember hearing "I Believe" on a Christian rock station, then it became a big hit on the top 40 charts. This song is so good; I would rank it up there with "Imagine" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
The rest of the album is excellent and thoughtful, and inspirational. This is one of those albums that one has to own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lyrics, great music and a great message., July 14, 1998

This is the Blessid Union of Souls first CD and I can almost guarantee that everyone has heard their hit single I Believe. It not only topped the charts, but hit the hearts of everyone who listened to it. If you enjoyed that single this album is full of more diverse songs, and all of them are great. From the faster "Oh Virginia" to the best song on the CD "Nora" this CD has it all. Their last song is "Lucky to be Here", and trust me, I think that we are lucky to be here, not them, so we can hear their great music, and even better message.

5.0 out of 5 stars Touches the Soul, July 30, 1999

I just bought "Home" like a month ago and what a quality cd! It's great to relax with songs like "Let me be the one" and "I believe". Also a big plus with "Home" is that you can listen to it again and again, and it doesn't wear on you with the same constant beats and sounds from song to song. Instead, it has a good variety of music, which makes for a great cd! If you're looking for some great music, look no further!
