Music Industry's Best Kept Secret,
By
This review is from: Home (Audio CD)
The BoDeans are one of the gems in the rock n roll industry. The fact that they have never truly "made it big" is an injustice and just shows how little the average fan knows about good rock music. This is the first BoDeans CD I bought. It got me hooked on this band. I have all of their CD's and feel this is the best one to just get you introduced to their music. However, you can't go wrong with any of their recordings. I would give each album a 5 star rating. I don't think I could ever say any one was that much better than the other. Outside Looking In has some great tunes - but, hey, they all do. Catch them live if you ever get a chance - one of the best live shows out there - and I've seen lots to compare them to. You'll love this CD and this band.

Mistake leads to much pleasure,
This review is from: Home (Audio CD)
"12 CD's for a buck!" I could only find 10 I wanted so I threw in two I had never heard of. The BoDeans - catchy name. This "mistake" back in 1989 has now lead to 10 years of tremendous appreciation of their music. I have eagerly snapped up each new release along with acquiring their earlier releases. I've never been disppointed."You Don't Get Much" "Worlds Away" and the haunting "Far Far Away From My Heart" ("I pour another drink and take a hit and I wonder where the smoke goes" - I love it!) these are great songs. Two questions remain in my mind. 1) When are they ever going to tour Texas? And, 2) Why aren't these guys HUGE?

These Guys Won't Disappoint,
By Rob W (Milwaukee, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Home (Audio CD)
I first saw the BoDeans in 1985 in Madison, Wis. They have been "my band" ever since. I'm lucky to live in Milwaukee, where they play at least once a year, and have seen them live about 10 times. This album, "Home" is one of their best. Sometimes moody, sometimes rocking, these songs stay with you. The band still plays a lot of these tunes live, which shows these songs are solid. The songs No One and Brand New are two standouts on this great record. See the BoDeans live!
