Book Description

0471595772 978-0471595779 October 1994
Would it be to my advantage to incorporate, and how do I go about it?. . .What's better for the type of business I'm in--an IBM-compatible or a Mac?. . .What makes more sense--telephone call routing or additional phone lines?. . .Do I have to file quarterly with the IRS during my first year?. . .What exactly is an electronic bulletin board, and how do I join one?

Wouldn't it be great if there were a toll-free 24-hour-a-day helpline you could call for answers to these and all your other home-based business questions? Well, now there's something even better--The Home Business Bible. From hiring an accountant to zoning regulations, this amazing guide gives you instant access to vital information on virtually every term, topic, and problem encountered by home-basers like you. And it gives it to you directly, item by item, without pep talks and filler.

Here's how it works: topics are arranged alphabetically, and each concise entry is divided into four sections. The first, "What You Need to Know," defines the term in the context of a home business. The second section, "Why You Need to Know It," explains why the term, concept, service, or product is so important to you and your operation. In "Where to Learn More," you find out where to read and whom to call for more information on the subject. The last section, "Related Topics," helps you to make important connections by offering a list of related topics also covered in the book.

While the bulk of the book is devoted to the A-to-Z reference, The Home Business Bible also features a chapter in which David R. Eyler provides an overview of the state of the art and makes some exciting predictions about what the future holds for the home-based businessperson. He also offers his helpful tips on selecting the home business specialty that's best for you and on making the transition from employee to businessperson.

In the final sections of The Home Business Bible, you'll find dozens of usable forms, letters, and worksheets; a directory of addresses and telephone numbers of organizations to contact for all types of business assistance; a list of books and suppliers of "microbusiness" goods and services; a directory of computer software assistance numbers; and much more.

As a special bonus with this hard-cover edition, you also get the unique In The Black accounting program, which combines two complete software packages in one. In The Black provides everything you need to manage every aspect of both your business and personal finances quickly and easily.

Whether you're already in business for yourself, or still thinking about taking the big leap into home-based business life, The Home Business Bible is an important resource you don't want to be without.

The Home Business Bible is at least ten years out of date; and those years have been so eventful in the field of home business that it feels a century out of date. I have no use at all for it. I cannot imagine why anybody else does, unless they live in a very small town where things don't change over the years.
