I only wish I had read this book years ago. The author explains exactly how to go about buying or selling your home. This is certainly the best book I have read all year.

I WISH BRIAN AND LORI WOULD HAVE WRITTEN THIS BOOK YEARS AGO BEFORE I BOUGHT HOUSE AFTER HOUSE. IF I EVER BUY A HOUSE AGAIN I WILL TAKE HEED FROM THIS GREAT BOOK! USEFUL INFORMATION AND VERY UNDERSTANDABLE.
A MUST READ FOR EVERY HOMEBUYER

"Home Buying by the Experts--The Pros make your dream home a reality" is a very misleading title of what is essentially a 'tips' book. Just like another reviewer mentioned, don't make this the only home buying book that you read. This is strickly supplimental information, not any way a walk-thru of the home buying process.

The information provided is a mixed bag with eight contributors. Each author gives their favorite 'tips' for buying. There are a few good chapters on tax advanges & closing, and a lot of 'fluff' chapters on 'no money down' and 'moving'.

The reason I bought the book was because Bob Bruss had a part in it and he has a great syndicated column in newspapers. His contribution was not enough to make "Home Buying by the Experts" worthwhile. I would advise to skip this one and buy 'Home Buying for Dummies".

I was very unhappy with this book. As a first time buyer, i was hoping to get an exhaustive review of the subject. Unfortunately this is what I ended up with:

1. Chapters written by the "experts," and not one person. Unfortunately, this means there is no continuity between chapters. No growth of understanding. Each chapter could (and probably was) be a link on the expert's website.

2. The experts like to advertise their services within the chapter. Thus, their opinions are obviously biased and the reader is not sure what to believe.

3. I read the whole thing, and I honestly can tell you, I need to buy another book. Many terms were never defined; there never was even a clear outline of how the buying process should be initiated, what steps to take, etc.

I am an anxious 1st time home buyer. This book is so informative. It goes over everything from getting a loan to the buying process, escrow, title, closing, move out timeline, & tax benefit. My wife & I are first time home buyer & this book made us feel really comfortable & ready to buy our 1st home. And best of all we can get a rebate back which will help us greatly w/ our closing cost. I am recommending this book to all of my friends.

I found this book helpful, well-written, and easy to understand. It takes you step by step through the home buying process, each expert leading you through his particular area of expertise. Lots of great advice in this book. A must-read for anyone looking to buy a home.

The book is very well organized and extremely well written. It's the nuisance of the process that can make or break your investment and the entire process is accurately and simply defined in the book. Definitely worth the time if you are purchasing a home.

I've read a bunch of home buying books from Dummies to Glink, but this is the only one that really gave me concise, timely, useful information on every topic from start to finish.

I love that each author is an expert in his field, so I'm really getting top quality information. Chapters on tax deductions, winning bidding strategies, and the closing process were particularly helpful to me, even though I'm not a first-time buyer. I'm about to order the book for my daughter who has never owned a home. I think that this will make the process less intimidating for her and help her to assess if she's financially ready. It's also really helpful to have features like the side-by-side loan comparison checklist and home interior/exterior checklist when you're out house- or mortgage-hunting.

Kudos to the authors for putting together an essential 'how to' book that works. Wish I'd known about this book ten years ago. I would have avoided some really costly errors.

My wife and I were nervous about negotiation on our first home purchase, but Home Buying by the Experts gave us the confidence we needed to get a GREAT deal. We also learned some great tax-saving tips!

This book "Home Buying by the Experts" has been completely helpful to me. Taking tips from the experts has been a great source of information as I am in the process of purchasing my first home! Thank you Brian Yui and Lori Shaw-Cohen for making a home buying experience a great one!
