Best known for her 1977 hit single "You Light Up My Life", Debby Boone is a three-time Grammy winner with a diverse catalog of recordings. She's done pop, country, contemporary Christian, and show tunes. Her album of Christmas music certainly showcases her lovely voice, with an interesting and satisfying selection of songs. This album was originally released by Lamb & Lion Records/Sparrow Records in 1989, and re-released by Unison Records in the mid 1990's. As much as we would love for Debby to get back into the recording studio, "HOME FOR CHRISTMAS" is one way that we can enjoy Debby's wonderful way with a song until that happens again.
Best cuts: "Some Children See Him" (an Alfred Burt carol that you don't hear very often... with a great message of inclusivity), "Christmas Time Is Here" (introduced in the Charlie Brown Christmas Special) and "White Christmas" (a duet with Rosemary Clooney, a recording even more poignant now that Rosemary is no longer with us).

Someone there at Curb Records truly appreciates great music, as they have been doing a great job getting the magnificently effecting voice and music of Debby Boone back to the masses where it belongs.On this holiday collection Boone sings some classic Christmas songs using great arrangements and touches.This cd (unlike some holiday collections) is great all the waythrough. Must hears are "Some Children See Him" - an instant personal holiday classic, "Christmas Time Is Here" - another classic delivery, "O Holy Night" - great version of an often covered classic, and " White Christmas" sung with the legendary late Rosemary Clooney who just happened to be Debbys' mother in law. The two had toured for years with a Christmas concert and this gem is a way to experience first hand some of that magic. A must have for the holidays!

What a beautiful album to warm your holidays. She has a fantastic overture in the first track of classic Christmas songs and then goes into many wonderful tracks you're sure to enjoy. One of my favorites the Alfred Burt classic "Some Children See Him" is just beautiful as is the second track...a Charlie Brown classic "Christmas Time Is Here." Her voice is beautiful and clear as a bell. Her selection of music was very well selected but only wish there were even more songs on the album. She sings a duet with her famous mother-in-law Rosemary Clooney (White Christmas) which is excellent as well...their voices totally different but compliment each other very nicely. This is an album that will be tops on my list every Christmas season to listen to.
