$100 dollars wasted. The card is not a Home Depot card, it's a Home Depot card retailed by [...]. $100 dollars wasted. The card is not a Home Depot card, it's a Home Depot card retailed by [...]. They have tricky rules, the purchaser has to activate the card (the recipient can't they say) before giving as a gift. The card I gave can't be activated because the recipient pulled off a sticker that had that activation code. Giftcardmall's customer service on the phone are terrible and they won't activate it. They don't care...they want me to activate it online or they can't help. Their online site can't help either unless you have the code from the sticker.

Basically, buy this card if you don't mind throwing away the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars A month later, still no gift card. Merry Christmas...not., December 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this gift card on 11/29/10. Today is 12/20/10, nearly a month later, and the gift card still has not arrived. I ordered it as a Christmas gift, but seeing as how Christmas is in 5 days, I highly doubt I'll actually get to give this gift.

I've contacted Gift Card Mall twice now. Both responses that I received were identical and did not address my question. I was told that UPS had a tracking error, which is why I was unable to view tracking information for my item. That's fine. But shouldn't the seller be able to tell me why the delivery estimate was 12/6 - 12/9, and here it is, 11 days after the latest estimated delivery date, and still no gift card?

Long story short, I will never purchase another item from this seller again. I chose to purchase it through Amazon so I could use my store card, but in the future, I'll just go to the actual store myself and pay cash.

The gift card took a very long time to come in the mail and when it eventually did it was too late. Very disappointed, however it is great for the person who orders gifts a month in advanced

2.0 out of 5 stars At least they didn't argue about a refund...., April 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
So I was very excited that I could order a gift card from someone and have it sent to them directly instead of having to go to the store, get the card, then go find a card to mail it in. HOWEVER, I was very embarassed when the person I sent it to went to use it and found that it DID NOT WORK AT ALL(especially since they made a special trip to Home Depot because they got this card). Home Depot said that this was not a valid card and they couldn't do anything without a receipt. Unfortunately they did not send a receipt with the gift card. I was refunded my money once I submitted a claim through Amazon, however the seller made sure to tell me that this was clearly an exception to their "no refund" policy, so I do not intend to do business with them because they didn't seem to think it was to big of a deal and acted as if they were doing me a favor. I would be nervous about this happening again and then having more difficulty.

2.0 out of 5 stars 2010 Christmas Gift, December 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First, this did take a VERY long time to arrive and I was very disappointed that there was no envelope or holder of any kind.

I decided I was going to find my own "holder" and I pulled it off the piece of paper that it was glued to. I now wonder if by removing it from the paper, I have thrown away the activation code required to use this card. I anticipate this is going to be an embarrassing disaster. I wish I could retract it from the mail.

I wish I would have read the reviews before placing this order... who would have thought that there would be anything worth "reviewing" on a giftcard.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING PRODUCT, NO PROBLEMS, CARD CAME ACTIVATED!, August 26, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've read reviews about this product, people have had problems with activation & such, but I ordered 3 and they came pre-activated. NO EXTRA WORK ON MY PART. Received it in the mail and the document said, "Card is Activated". Took it to Home Depot & used it just like cash, I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS whatsoever. Subsequently I've purchased 3 more cards, just makes things easier, I know what I need, I have the cards I don't need to bring the wallet etc. Quick, easy & efficient. I had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS when I checked out. When I first got the card I read the reviews & thought maybe I'd have a problem, so I brought the paper the card came attached with it in the envelope, but had no need for it. I told the woman, "I have a gift card", she replied, "that's no problem". So quick and efficient. I've read some of the revies about problems with activation etc, but it seems Home depot realized there was a problem, dealt with it & now the cards come pre-activated. The perfect gift for anyone moving into a new apartment or house or dorm. Paint, anything, so many options. I'll be purchasing more. Furthermore, I don't know which Home Depot are shopping at but the one here in mid-town Manhattan, NYC, is phenomenal. Everyone 'knows there products & area' they're assigned to, courteous friendly and knowledgeable is the feeling I came away with. Great card and so, so, so many options. I was like a kid in a candy store, I wanted to buy everything. LOL.. If only I had that kind of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Home Depot Gift Card, January 8, 2012
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The perfect gift for the DIY home owner. Brother lives 2000 miles away, so we do not keep in touch much to know about 'personal' gifts. But I know he has a house, and I know a house always needs fixing, and Home Depot has just about everything a DIY home owner needs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Maybe I was lucky, but..., January 3, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
...I had no problems at all. The card arrived as expected, came pre-activated, and was accepted at Home Depot like any other piece of plastic. Reading the reviews, I think some people just hate Home Depot and have no use for their gift cards.
I like to keep one in my wallet for sudden expenses.
