We were so happy to get one of these. We started to put it together, and realized that it was not the same fire truck as shown on the box. The ladder is completely different then what's shown on the package. Because there are different parts to the ladder not shown, it makes it difficult to identify the parts on the directions, because you'll have pieces that do not match the plans. Good luck. It's still a cute thing to have.

My son put this together, with his dad, when he was barely over 4. He enjoyed turning the screw driver and painting all the parts. The ladder we have is different than the picture, but seems to be sturdy and my son loves it! He has now discovered that he can take it apart and put it back together. He greatly enjoys taking a side panel off, "fixing" it, and putting it back together. He enjoys this toy very much, and shows it off to everyone. We have no complaints with quality or anything else.

I bought this for my son's 6th birthday thinking that it would be fun for us to build together. Although my son loved putting it together, the pieces did not fit together very well. A piece of the base actually broke and now the bumper only has one screw holding it in place. The end result is a crooked fire truck. I triple checked the directions as I went to ensure that we were putting it together properly, and we were. I had to drill a hole on the ladder as the person assembling the pieces of the ladder put the end rails with the screw holes on opposite sides of the ladder. However, despite having a loose bumper and being crooked, my son loves it because it was something we built together. Although I was dissatisfied with the craftsmanship of the person cutting and drilling the pieces, it was a fun experience for my son and I. If you are looking for something fun to do with your child, I would recommend this. Just be prepared to be a little frustrated with the holes lining up and have a drill handy if need be. |
