I dislike both country and Christian pop music, but I really love this holiday CD. My whole family likes it too. Trisha Yearwood, Point of Grace, and the London Symphony Orchestra combine to make a lovely album. My mom got it at Hallmark just thinking it would be something nice to listen to, and it exceeded all expectations. The mixing and arrangements of the songs are really nice and it invites you to sing along. It is very cheerful and not overly-produced. It is a good CD to have playing in the background for family gatherings.

Songs on the CD are:

1. It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

2. Silver Bells

3. Winter Wonderland

4. Ding Dong Merrily on High

5. O Holy Night

6. Silent Night

7. Away in a Manger

8. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

9. Joy to the World

10. O Little Town of Bethlehem

11. Here We Come a Caroling

12. Deck the Halls

I think the "O Holy Night" version is particularly pretty as is the "Here We Come A Caroling" and the London Symphony Orchestra is superb.

So far the reviews have been split on this album. On the one hand, it does seem to be a little disjointed and doesn't flow as well as some of their other albums - However, It is obvious that they were going for the best, rather than going for a homogenous blend. I like the upbeat more contemporary sound of the familiar standbys. And the new song: "Candy Cane Lane" not only puts a smile on my face but my grand kids LOVE it (hop on the choo choo and woo woo to Candy Cane Lane...right next to Gumdrop street.) It is adorable.

Kareoke? Really? Their vocal harmonies are the best you can get.

Well, that's why they make blue suits and brown suits. You can't please everyone. (But I'm still smiling)

I went into a Hallmark gift store with my wife years ago. The music in the store caught our attention and we went straight to the cashier's counter to ask about the CD.

They showed us the "Home for the Holidays" CD. Rather than buying any cards from Hallmark as we planned, we just bought the CD instead (it was either the CD or the cards; out budget was tight).

The music on this CD is of wonderful quality - from the orchestra to the singers.

I don't even consider myself a Trisha Yearwood fan. Much like the other reviewer, I really wouldn't have picked out this CD because of the artist. But from hearing samples in the Hallmark store, my wife and I knew we had to get a copy for ourselves.

Unfortunately, we misplaced our copy of this CD somehow and I've been looking to replace it for years. I couldn't remember the name, so I had a hard time finding it. But now I have found it here on Amazon. After posting this review, I'm ordering a new copy right away. That way, I'll have it handy for next Christmas season. (I wish they had the MP3's available).

If you love to have Christmas music around you during the holiday season, you'll be pleasantly surprised with this album!

Home for the Holidays;

I happen to be a Trisha Yearwood fan and have all her albums.

When I saw this CD at Hallmark, of course I had to buy it. Wow, I was taken back at how wonderful the music is. The London Symphony Orchestra plays such fantastic music alternating between Trisha Yearwood and Point of Grace. You can imagine that now I am a fan of Point of Grace because of their angelic voices. One track includes the Bradford Singers singing "Here We Come A Caroling" which is a delight on this CD.

This CD is upmost in traditional Christmas songs we all know and love. Easy listening and brings you into the Holiday spirit. I have about twenty-five Christmas CD's, and this one is my favorite. Hallmark exceded all expectations. An absolute must for your CD collection.

Bravo Hallmark!

I loved this CD and not otherwise am a huge fan of this genre of music (almost like and Andrews Sisters-type harmonizing, but more modern). I get so tired of hearing the "classic" Christmas music over and over. I bought the CD on a recommendation. The vocals are amazing, and there were several songs on the CD that I had never heard before. A few of the songs were just amazingly beautiful - the kind that you want to listen to over and over again and actually sing to, even if your own voice sounds terrible (like mine !). Honestly, i cant believe that I only paid about 5 bucks for this CD, because it is one of my all-time favorite Christmas collections. I would be happy to pay $20 for this CD. I bought a copies for some friends and they absolutely love it too.

PoG is a trio of women for Arkansas who do most of their work in the `Christian Contemporary' genre and have done several holiday albums, with this being the most recent. They have a solid country sound much of the way, with plenty of mandolins and fiddles, but switch up a little bit with 40's crooning harmony on `Candy Cane Lane', and an almost disco/calypso beat to `Joy to the World'. Christmas piano icon Jim Brickman guests on `The Giver and the Gift' . Best thing is they keep up the quality without getting too preachy, but still show reverence in the traditional carols and originals.
