Becky (a huge fan of Wayne Watson's!),

I had the WONDERFUL opportunity to hear Wayne perform "Home Free" for the first time in public. It was when his friend was still in alive. (That he had wrote this song about.) (Just after that concert, he had found out she was near the end, or had passed away... I don't remember which.) After I heard that, it just made that night even more memorable! If you're not sure which Wayne Watson cd to start with, this would be the one! (Thought I like all of them!) Enjoy and God Bless! P.S. If you'd like to hear about another memorable evening I had "with" Wayne Watson, feel free to email me! (I had the priveledge of interviewing him! ) :-}

Brings Peace to Those Dying and Those Living,

My sister was dying from a brain tumor and we were returning from a fishing trip, that we knew would be her last. When she heard Wayne Watson's song Home Free she let us know that she wanted to hear it again and again. It made her feel better for herself and for us. She asked us to have someone sing it at her funeral. There is no better song to help heal the greiving. My family listens to it often and I always give this CD to anyone I know who is dealing with the pain of losing someone to an illness. We love the WHOLE album.

If you don't buy this album for any other song except for Almighty, then play the thing half to death like we do around here, then you've certainly received your money's worth and them some! Golly, what an awesome song! One of Christian music's top songs of all time too. Wish they were still writing and recording songs like this now. There isn't a bad one in the bunch on this record and if you love Wayne Watson's music, then this one is one of the best in my opinion. Sure miss seeing him live in concert - just love his sense of humor. Great, fabulous album from a great artist. Highly, highly recommend!

I have been a fan of Wayne Watson's ever since his 1987 breakthrough hit "Watercolour Ponies" (if you have never heard this song and you are a parent, you need to hear it). But as popular as that song was, most Wayne Watson fans will tell you that his best album ever was the 1990 release "Home Free."The title track from this album was written out of the pain Wayne felt from the soon to be death of a close friend of his, Sandra Kirkham. Although everyone around her was praying for her complete recovery, God opted to call her home. The song "Home Free" deals with the conflict that is inherent in all of us: allowing God's will to be done even when it hurts. A good companion to the title song is "When God's People Pray," a reminder of what all can happen when God answers our prayers. There are many, many more songs on this album that should be taken to heart. And each one will move your heart towards God if you will let it. This album is a must have for not only Wayne Watson fans, but soon-to-be Wayne Watson fans.

Help for the Living who are Hurting,

In response to the first review I read, I first heard this song when my then 3 year old brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor. My mother played it over and over making it her prayer that God's will be done - in life and in death. It was a unique source of hope and strength that God was there, with us, in the midst of everything - no matter what.My brother just turned 15 in 2003.
