5.0 out of 5 stars Fine old program
This is an old time basic cooking program that operates somewhat like the earliest Mastercook software (when Sierra owned the program). You will find a wide selection of home-style recipes. You will also find some of the recipes were not implemented correctly and the text will be missing.

Recommend with caveats given.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great while it lasted
I really loved using this program. You could add your own recipes, give special nutritional information for items they didn't have in their data base, figure out how many calories for each serving and more. This program even allows you to put your recipes into the program using metric or US measures, and still gave you the proper nutrition in grams, even if you aren't...

I really loved using this program. You could add your own recipes, give special nutritional information for items they didn't have in their data base, figure out how many calories for each serving and more. This program even allows you to put your recipes into the program using metric or US measures, and still gave you the proper nutrition in grams, even if you aren't metric. Any recipe could be given any number of categories - like vegetarian, dairy, cakes, beef, holiday or whatever - all the categories could be user defined and when you were looking for something specific - like a vegetarian holiday recipe, you could search for that combination.

The only problem with this program is that if you're running Windows XP and you've gotten service pack 2 - this program will no longer run on your computer. What a bummer!
