The book was enough to start me thinking about an all year garden. Here in Northern California it gets close to freezing in the winter so fresh vegetables from my own yard are not an option. I found a hydroponic unit to experiment with. I was growing fresh lettuce sprouts in less than 2 weeks.

Love this book, very reasonably priced and has everything you need to know for having a hydroponic garden in your home or greenhouse. You could even use these ideals in your garden. There is even direction with pictures that show how to do it plus directions to build a simple small greenhouse to a larger one. Don't think I would do the greenhouse style cause I have a garage that I turned into a shed; so if I did it outdoors that would be a better place for me all I would need is grow lights and I would be good to go. Been thinking about doing it in my basement as I have drain holes in the cement floor just in case plus I have good lighting down there. Winter is just around the corner and I would hate to have to shovel snow to get to my shed lol it gets waist deep something as it is at the end of a slope. Between hydroponics and sprouting you could have greens and some vegetables year round. Plus, you would be in control of what goes into your crop which is very important to me.
