Although not part of his other series, this was a great stand alone book.
Charles R. Lockwood
The sweeping education mandate at the very end of the book has a great chance of being implemented so they can let us know how to think.

I highly recommend this book as a fast-paced and thought-provoking read, which is one in a series.

After reading REMEMBER THE ALAMO by William W. Johnstone a fictious story about how a group of Vietnam vets have to defend the Alamo all over again when a corrupt U.S. president decides to give the monumental fort back to Mexico, I became an instant fan. Johnstone can sure get a reader's blood boiling.

In Home Invasion, Johnstone takes it one step further. Home, a Texas border town, has been targeted by yet another scoundrel U.S. president. Foiling a home invasion, an elderly homeowner shoots and kills one of two intruders, members of a Mexican drug cartel, that break into his house and are responsible for killing the homeowner's wife in an exchange of gunplay. A simple case of self-defense? Not if Johnstone has anything to say about it.

The surviving intruder is suing the homeowner and the town of Home for violation of his rights! Then the U.S. president takes away the citizen's rights in Home to carry firearms and declares martial law over the town by sending in the Federal Protection Service, the FPS (a special ops group created by the president) to arrest anyone that does not surrender their guns. After Home's firearms have been confiscated, an army of Mexicans from the drug cartel invade the defenseless town leaving only the police chief and her officers to fight off the attack. To make matters worse, the president is planning to end the violence in Home by killing the residents with an experimental nerve gas.

If that's not enough to get your blood boiling, I don't know what is. I highly recommend this book as a fast-paced and thought-provoking read, which is one in a series.

I have read 3 of the latest books by this author, and it never fails to amaze me just how realistic the entire premise of corruption in DC and the media is so rampant that the scenarios in the book have at least a factual probibility of being true. Anyone who is in power and corrupt will seek to retain that power. We are living in an era where those in power seek to defame the constitution for their own purpose. The book is more real than I can put into words. This once great nation is in a downward spiral that the media chooses to ignore. Sadly it is our own people who elect others for a few free trinkets. The book if read with an open mind may help to clear the mind. The sweeping education mandate at the very end of the book has a great chance of being implemented so they can let us know how to think. Thank God I am getting old and hope I don't live long enough to see more sinister developements.

If you want to get an idea about what is going on in this country today buy the book and read it. If you don't believe that some of this is happening today and the rest is on the way then don't believe it. Other then that it is a very good story.

A very surprising story, it is almost like the story is about our current president! Sure seems like our country could end up just like this book from the way our current administration is. Do the authors know something we don't?

I have not read a book by this author that I have not enjoyed. His books are very relevant to what is happening in the government today. I hope he keeps writing 'zingers' like these.

The most disappointing thing about this e-book was how many words run together throughout the book. It is very distracting and at times stops you in your tracks to unscramble the run together words. Very poor editing done on this book.
