About the Author
Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in Putnam, Connecticut, on April 16, 1890, to Edgar and Jane Warner. Her family included a sister, Frances, and a brother, John. From the age of five, she dreamed of becoming an author. She wrote stories for her Grandfather Carpenter, and each Christmas she gave him one of these stories as a gift. Today, Ms. Warner is best remembered as the author of The Boxcar Children Mysteries.

In my opinion, THE HOME RUN MYSTERY is the Best Boxcar Children book ever written! I won't spoil the book, but it's probably one of the most mysterious one ever. A+

This time they're involved in a baseball game, playing in a lot that has a story behind it, but time is running out. The lot may soon be changed into a parking lot! This is an enjoyable Boxcar Children book in which the children are with their grandfather at an inn on the Hudson River. The children get involved in playing on a baseball team, but there's something suspicious going on. Two or more "something suspicious" goings-on, one involving very light bats, the other involving a long-lost letter and historical landmarks. A fun read, and relevant to today's world.
