Awesome story...I just wanted it to continue and find out what happens next. I was very surprised (and disappointed) to find after searching that this is the first published story by this author. I was hoping to have many more books to read right NOW! :) I believe in Ethan and Dean and find the story line clever and lovely. This is definitely a short story but there was much of interest packed into a single night of their life. When I commented on the authors blog that more stories would be welcome she said that Mark will get his own soon (I was really hoping for that...YAY). Colleen Coover is now on my auto buy list. There were no errors or problems with the story that I noticed. Not a 'drama' story..its a love story!

Loved this short book. From start to finish it kept me interested. I LOVED the twist. Lovely, well written characters. I wish it were longer only because I'd like to know more about their lives. Short, complete and fulfilling.

Not bad. I really did like the twist. It's a nice enough retelling of a classic scenario, but with two men. I'm a huge fan of any writing style that speaks to me, so I love that about this story. And it's always fresh to see polar opposites fall for each other, especially in the genre of writing. I could definitely see more from the author being good, and see this author growing better and better.

Honestly, though, I can't get over the fact that the author's note calls The Color Purple schlocky. That's a pretty bold move. Probably should make sure your writing is proven up to par before you slam a classic. It kind of forces the reader to make a comparison you can't live up to and gives off a withering pretentious vibe. There's selling yourself and then there's this.... The story is okay, good even, but not so great that you can turn a nose up to writers with more substance and skill. I mean, honestly, it's a fluff piece. Good thing the About the Author comes at the end! It's really a nice piece talent wise.
