Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Fox follows kickoff e-novella Caribou Crossing with a full-length paean to the virtues of rural life and family bonds. Evan Kincaid fled western Canada and an unhappy home life for Cornell University and then N.Y.C., making his fortune as an investment counselor. When he's sent to appraise a business opportunity at a Canadian resort ranch, Evan is unexpectedly reunited with T.J. Cousins, his former lover. T.J. inspires Evan to help heal family wounds and encourages him to engage with his emotions, contrasting with Evan's girlfriend, Cynthia, a shallow, city-dwelling corporate finance attorney. Descriptions of the ranch's amenities provide an advertisement for the beauties of the British Columbian interior and the joys of country living. Aside from a convenient contrived event that forces T.J. to reveal her most closely held secret, plot surprises are minimal and romantic tension is low. Agent: Emily Sylvan Kim, Prospect Agency. (Aug.)

Sometimes teenage decisions last well into adulthood, and making a correct choice is often difficult regardless of how many years have gone by. In the second story of the Caribou Crossing series, one fateful night tore apart two individuals who had been friends for a very long time. When they are unexpectedly reunited, trust is fragile and the sexual spark between them still simmers. Emotional entanglements make HOME ON THE RANGE compelling and continuously engaging. There are an abundance of colorful descriptions plus numerous authentic settings included in the novel, and Susan Fox vividly portrays every scene.

When a client of investment advisor, Evan Kincaid, wants him to vacation at a resort ranch, the city resident would like to refuse. Yet the man gives several good points about needing to know more facts about a proposed investment, so Evan buys some boots and returns to the one place he never wanted to visit again. He might have lived in Caribou Crossing for many years, but he only thought of one person as a good friend. Sadly, with the way things were between them when he suddenly left for college, he feels even horse-loving Jessica Bly probably does not care to see him again.

Jess cannot believe that Evan is one of the guests when the latest group arrives at the resort. Although the two did not have anything in common, she enjoyed being around him when he was a young boy and through high school. Right before Evan disappeared to pursue his chosen career, they shared an intimate encounter that changed her life and must remain undisclosed. Since he is concealing his real reason for being at the ranch, neither is comfortable around the other. They know if the truth is divulged, the trust that is slowly building could be shattered for good.

Contemporary Romance -Aug 6th, 2013

Heartfelt romance and sympathetic characters make for a book to remember.

Evan Kincaid couldn't wait to shake the dust off of his miserable childhood in his hometown. Now a successful financial advisor in New York, he is living the `dream.' With a smart and beautiful fiancée and a job that affords him the money to do whatever he wants, he has blocked out his troubled past. But when one of his top clients wants him to visit his home town to check out a prospective investment and insists that Evan visit it personally.

Evan is irritated and reluctant, especially when he discovers it is in his own hometown! He doesn't want any reminders of his past and evaluating a ranch, the complete opposite of his city life makes him cringe. When Evan visits he wants to keep his visit low profile but immediately stumbles into his once best friend, Jessica Bly. Evan loved Jess as a friend but before they left they had a night of young passion and he cowardly emailed her when he left. But Evan soon discovers that the prospective business that he is supposed to evaluate is one that Jess wants to run. Evan feels conflicted by his past, a friend he never forgot and a serious conflict of interest.

Jess loves the country. She dreams of setting up her own business and doing something she loves. Her life is comfortable if not completely happy. But her peaceful life is shredded when the young man she loved suddenly arrives. Their one night together haunts her and she knows she never let Evan out of her heart. As she and Evan reconcile their difference and become more 'friendly' trouble looms as Jesse's secrets and Evan true reasons for visiting break a fragile trust.

Very good book. I love how Evan finally understood what love was about and how he came over so many issues as a child. I would recommend this book to any romance novel fan.

I expected more from this book.
This book can be read as a standalone.
After reading the first book i kind of hoping for more. The first book is my fav here, i cant say same about Home on the range. It is a good book but i didnot enjoy it as much as i did the first one.......

This book is all about mending the lost friendships and relations. There is nothing wrong with it, except the whole book covers it. I felt like there is not enough romance between the main characters. Evan returns home on business. Jess is struggling with her work. Evan doesnot allow anyone to become close to him emotionally, not even his girlfriend. He thinks about Jess all the time and want her to be his best friend again, want to share his sucess and sorrows with Jess. When he returns, Evan and jess becomes besties again, though they take thier time. They have fun. As they open up to each other, they realize they want more than friendship but doesnot want to do anything about it as their dreams are different and live in different places. Jess doesnot want Evan to know his daughter because Evan doesnot like to have children. Jess helps evan to open himself... Susan Fox portrayed the friendship so greatly......

I loved the scene where Evan sings and dances along with every one.....

when i was reading the first book i really liked evan and Jess, their friendship was so good. With the teaser i couldnot do anything but buy this book.
I loved Dave in this book... Hoping to read more about him
