An intropspective collection of acoustic love songs,
By A Customer
This review is from: Home Remedy (Audio CD)
A poet once lamented over the rejection of his lover, "oh the sweet torment of love." Home Remedy is a collection of songs on the same theme; from "susan o'leary" to "plastic rose," Carothers captures the timeless struggle with (and without) love.Carother's acoustic approach also lends itself to more of a timeless feel, as it isn't dated with the latest keyboard sounds or the latest pop trend. Carother's has been a popular Northwest artist since the early 80's...but an artist whose talent far exceeds his audience. Home Remedy is a thoughtful and introspective collection of acoustic love songs, from the common regret to the personal bitterness and a little humor thrown in for good cynical measure.

Craig Carothers is under rated. He travels the world, playing with his talented friends to the delight of those lucky enough to know of his music. I've been aware of him for the past few years and try to see him when he comes to Portland twice a year. He is intelligent, very gifted and very humorous. I love "Little Hercules". Search out his web site for club dates and other CDs. You'll be glad you did.
