The Home Right Stain Stick allows you to quickly and efficiently apply stains and seals to your deck, fence, cedar siding, concrete, and more. The 4-foot extension handle and pivoting head help you reach any surface with smooth, even coverage and brush-like application. The locking head and wrap-around pad design make edging easy, while the built-in edging guide helps protect vertical surfaces for better control. The innovative handle conveniently holds up to 18 fluid ounces of stain and is easily loaded via a fill tube directly from the paint can. This product is backed by a 2-year limited warranty.

Product Description

The StainStick holds material in its handle and accommodates most types of sealant, including semi-transparent stains, which makes it an effective tool for staining decks, siding, fencing, docks--even for sealing concrete. The neoprene base pad controls exactly how much stain is applied to the surface. The fibers on the pad act like mini-paint brushes, ensuring even coverage and eliminating the worries of back brushing or overspray. A unique universal joint enables the StainStick's pad base to swivel in any direction, allowing stain to be applied at virtually any angle or from any position.

I bought this a few years ago after experiencing a tragedy trying to stain my 30 foot deck with a sprayer -- what a mess! The stain stick cut the time down by more than a half, works like a charm and is easy to use. When I went to use it a couple of years later, I needed a replacement head and returned to Lowes but they no longer sold the product. Cant' find it anywhere. What a shame.

I did my deck and my porch with the Stain Stick (approx 550 sqft.) with the pad staying intact, that included a wash up between the two projects.
The flow is controlled by pushing the handle in - if you're pushing the handle in you are getting stain. If you're getting too much stain, stop pushing - pretty simple.
I agree the handle could be longer, however it's significantly longer than a brush, which I refuse to use.
All and all I would recomend this product it makes the job very easy.

I am a builder and never have time to do my own projects. In an effort to speed up my weekend deck staining project, I decided to try this product. I puchased it from Lowes in lieu of at least two other similar products. (Though neither of the others had the same capacity to store and distribute the stain product from the handle.) I was skeptical, but hopeful. I filled it once and began staining the deck; looking good. Filled it again and the pad came off the thing. I had to finish the remaining 95% of the deck with a brush. It's going back to the store. Also, the end of the pad appears to be designed to allow you to stain between the boards. Absolutely useless. It's sad that such a high potential concept is executed with such a lack of quality. It's junk, really.
