Great children's music with a great sound.

Paul Spring's album Home of Song is to simply put it, an extremely enjoyable listen from start to finish.

My wife and I play this on our road trips...45 minute commutes with three kids in tow.

Instead of being fueled by corn syrup like the frenzied children's music created by the likes of The Wiggles, the music on this album seems to be fueled by the magic of childhood (a mix of curiosity, optimism, free time, playfulness and belief). On Home of Song, Paul Spring evokes the same emotions that I feel when I hear, "You've Got a Friend In Me," from Toy Story. It is the perfect soundtrack for those summer months when we grill burgers, snap fresh green beans, and cut up cold watermelon. My favorite songs are Peter Pan, Home of Song, Mississippi River and Mermaid. I love the clever lyrics throughout the album. Spring makes witty references to famous characters in literature and he crafts delightfully poetic phrases. Let's not forget that Home of Song is a children's album. Do my kids like it? They all join in loudly and sing the chorus of Peter Pan (even my 13-year-old, who, by the way spent much of his 4-year-old summer pretending to be Peter Pan) and the house fills with laughter when my daughters (7 and 10) try and fail to hold the note in Mermaid along with Spring (you will have to buy the song to understand). If you are ready to get your children (and yourself) away from the hyperactive cheese typically made for children and the dark, brooding, pathological auto-tuned songs on the radio for teens, then this album is for you.

Paul Spring's album Home of Song is to simply put it, an extremely enjoyable listen from start to finish. As I see it climbing in the kids music category I am not the least surprised. Whether you have kids or not this record is something you will enjoy. If you are in fact buying it for your kids don't be surprised when you start humming different tunes off the album throughout the day and listening to the album when your kids aren't around. Paul Spring let's us peek into his childhood inspiring one to incorporate music as much as possible in not only our own but our children's lives. Give it a listen.

Heard a few songs and a review on NPR and bought it immediately. Well worth it. This album is loved by my 3 year old but also her much older brothers and dad. Its easy to listen to and you forget its listed fof sale as a children's album. Sounds like a lazy weekend with the family playing games in the yard and hanging out with friends on the deck.

A fun, smart songwriting romp. I had a good time through and through listening to the album. Not a bad song here.

Great children's music with a great sound. I am so pleased to have some music great for my children to sing along with that doesn't sound anything like a cartoon character or, worse yet, adults trying to imitate children's voices. I purchased this for "The Mermaid" and the "Peter Pan" songs, but then was very pleased with the song stating "those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter." I am eager to buy more music by Paul Spring.
