I was a little nervous spending almost $500 on a piece of "put together furniture", but this is the only one I could find that I really liked, and would suit the space well.

Well, I couldn't have asked for anything better. My husband put it together (by himself) in about 3 hours. It looks like it's from a high priced furniture store - the cherry matches perfectly with what I already had.

The packaging was solid - nothing was damaged or broken, and got it earlier than I thought too! I can't stop looking at it!

Outstanding! The only reason it did not get 5 stars was because it was much more intensive to assemble than "Some assembly may be required" would indicate.

Packaging and shipping - packaged very well from original manufacturer in Thailand - ordered the 10th - arrived via FedEx on the 16th.

Craftsmanship - above average. Evenly stained, nice finish. All wood - no press-board or chipboard here - this is ALL solid wood. The pieces (and there are a LOT of them) are good quality wood with perfectly aligned holes. Cam and pin construction and a lot of doweling - the stretchers and panels, etc are all solid wood and separate pieces that fit together with cam-lock fasteners and dowels - the shelves have dowels and pins - this piece is definitely not going to fall apart on you once you have it together, BUT putting it together is not for the faint-of heart. You will need a cordless screwdriver (you will NOT want to put this one together without one, folks). This comes in 3 boxes - with a lot of pieces and very detailed, easy-to-follow instructions with plenty of diagrams and pictures. It took my husband and I about 2.5 hours to put this together and we are pretty experienced with assembling furniture (there are parts of this assembly that do require 2 people to do). Time-intensive but not too difficult to do, and the end product is WELL worth the trouble. This is a very nice piece that I am proud to have in my home. Everyone that has seen it has commented on what a nice piece of furniture it is. :o)

This is a heavy piece of furniture so be sure that you have someone to help you if you need to move it. After assembly be sure to use the anti-tip kit that is included if you have little ones running around for safety.

This was a great buy - happy to have found exactly what I was looking on Amazon (again)!

I was initially worried about ordering a piece of furniture at this price through the mail, but my fears were quickly allayed through a very quick delivery, good quality parts, and clear instructions. My only negative comment is that a couple of the pieces had minor damage, but luckily they're not visible. All in all, it's a very nice cabinet and a nice center piece to our dining room. I would most definitely purchase this product again.
