Book Description

June 1, 1996 Arabesque
HOME IS WHERE THE LOVE IS... When Quintin Lord's new neighbor marched into his apartment and demanded that he turn down his music, he was surprised and utterly enchanted. Though the celebrated photographer had had his fill of pretty faces, this lovely, graceful woman was different, somehow.

Ballerina-turned -caterer Victoria Jones could kiss and cook her way into any man's heart if she wanted to. But she'd lost too much-a dancing career, a child, and the husband she had adored unselfishly. Love had cost her, and she would not put her heart on the line again.

But Quintin was not the kind of man to take no for an answer. With tender kisses and loving caresses, he would prove to Victoria that passion could ease loneliness and heartache-and that a lasting love was worth any risk...

From the Inside Flap

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR

"You've spoiled me," Quintin crooned, smiling down on Victoria's upturned face.

Victoria's gaze caressed his features, lingering on the sweeping arch of his thick black eyebrows, the tiny lines around his laughing eyes, and the sensual curve of his masculine mouth.

"I'm considering unspoiling you," she teased.

"Too late," His head lowered and he nuzzled her neck.

"I'll move away."

"I'll follow you, Vicky. I'll sail the world, searching for you."

Victoria melted against his body, luxuriating in the unyeilding strength that was Quintin Lord's, her arms going around his slim waist. Closing her eyes, she gave in to the powerful passions coursing through her as Quintin sculpted her body with his fingers. He was the artist, the sculptor molding and shaping her to his will.

"I need you, Vicky," he murmured against her ear.

She stiffened. She didn't want him to need her; she wanted him to want her. "Let me go Quintin."

He released her, staring. What had he done? She silently made her way out of the kitchen.

Had he moved too quickly? He had to remind himself that Victoria Jones was different. He couldn't rush her.

A wry smile curved his mouth. He would wait her out. She wasn't going anywhere and neither was he.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gives new meaning to "Love Thy Neighbor", October 13, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Home Sweet Home (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Victoria Jones is a survivor. She's bounced back from a career-ending injury, the loss of a child, a bad marriage and divorce. She's started a successful catering business. If she can only survive living next door to Quintin Lord and his ear-shattering music, she'll be OK. Quintin is a lovable, messy artist who likes big dogs, loud music, sailing and his next-door neighbor. When the cooking-challenged Quintin offers his neighbor one of his paintings as a housewarming gift, Victoria suggests a barter. She'll cook for him in exchange for the artwork. The kitchen isn't the only hot place in this novel. Inevitable sparks fly. Rochelle Alers has created funny, realistic characters who start out as adversaries and end up very neighborly.

Rochelle Alers is the bomb. Everything she writes is good. You don't even have to read the bad of the book you know automatically that it's good. There were alot of lessons in this book. Also it really explored Catering Business, trust, love, adoption and friendship.
