5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent debut
Kano... London MC. Spent years on pirate radio and doing raves on the so called 'grime' scene before getting signed to The Streets (Mike Skinner) label 679.

His flow is nice "Yea I make beats but flows my game" and his production is tight too - amongst them Mike Skinner, grime heavyweights Terrah Danja and Da Vinche and Kano himself are amongst those...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good
This album is pretty good. As a U.S. hip-hop fan, I thought that there were some good beats that had an unusual sound. Kano is a decent MC, but he has a ways to go. Kano is a mix of grime and US hip hop, so if you're looking to get into grime and just want to stick your toe in the water instead of diving right into the really grimey stuff, this would be the album.

Kano... London MC. Spent years on pirate radio and doing raves on the so called 'grime' scene before getting signed to The Streets (Mike Skinner) label 679.

His flow is nice "Yea I make beats but flows my game" and his production is tight too - amongst them Mike Skinner, grime heavyweights Terrah Danja and Da Vinche and Kano himself are amongst those responsible for the beats.

The beginning is fairly grimey but what I like about this album is uses a variety of styles for beats. Kano shines on all of them. The hip hop/drum n bass styled (See Reload It), hip hop/rock (Don't Know Why - similar to Jay-Z's 99 Problems), latino (Remember Me) and the RnB influenced Brown Eyes are all very good. The only track I didn't feel too much was Nite Nite featuring the Streets which ironically as a single is becoming more popular than the previous singles Remember Me, P's & Q's and Typical Me.

Although sometimes simple lyrically Kano shows talent with versatility. There are personal introspective songs tracks towards ladies and also some conscious talk. The bonus track is his first song he released, the self produced Boys Love Girls which is one of the many highlights. I am very proud that he made an album of this quality and would be interested to know if the US likes it. Pick it up and listen.

This album is a real step up for the British music scene. This album has good range of beats and Kano proves he can handle any style with relative ease.
My favourite raw songs are; Ps & Qs, Rewind It, Typical Me and Dont Dance no more;
However theres a few softer songs for the ladies on here too and Nite Nite feat Leo the Lion and Brown Eyes are definately the pick of those.
Although all of these songs are of a high standard the album doesnt get 5 stars due to the fact that I just cant sit and listen without skipping the odd track.
I was glad to see Boys Love Girls make it on as a bonus track but its a pity they didnt also include Dont Dance No More (Remix) which is also hot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Start-to-finish quality, August 16, 2005

Kano is just like any other teenager trying to make it big in the game, but unlike any other teenager he has an incredible flow tonnes of talent and enough rhymes to keep the crowd jumpin'. The title track "Home sweet home" kicks off the album perfectly with tough beat and even tougher rhymes. " P's and Q's" is a gritty street track which showcases kano at his lyrical best. Another hot track is "Nobody don't dance no more" i love the rhymes and the beat is just the icing on the cake. "Typical me" and "Remember me" are both tracks that will get any listeners attention.
Apart from a few lackluster tracks in the mid-section ths album is pure quality, and to be fair Kano is up there with the creme of the crop British talent such as The Streets and Dizzee Rascal. Top Class !!!
