5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, January 31, 2010

If you love historical christian novels but are tired of flat characters you should read this book. It kind of reminds me of Mary Connealy's and Cathy Marie Hake's writing in that it mixes humor, romance, and easy to love characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, April 17, 2006
This review is from: A Home in the Valley (Reardon Valley #1) (Paperback)
As the previous reviewer stated, the 2nd and 3rd books in this series were disappointing and didn't mention Baxter and Sabina. However, judging this book on its own merit, I loved the characters, especially Sabina and the children, and enjoyed reading this book. I knew the characters from the previous Reardon Valley series so I was not confused with the names in this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, March 22, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: A Home in the Valley (Reardon Valley #1) (Paperback)
I love historical fiction and was thrilled to find the first 3 books in the library. I know why now. While I really enjoyed Baxter and Sabina's stories, there was little character and plot development to really endear the reader to the series. What is most frustrating is that in the next two books you will hear nothing about Baxter or Sabina as if they fell off the face of the earth...even though this is a small community where everyone knows everyone....and by the way, Dianna, I do not know everyone so stop throwing names out there in each book to which I have no clue who they are and spend 20-30 minutes reviewing to discover if I missed something. If interested in historical fiction stick with Lauraine Snelling or Gilbert Morris.
