Very detailed book,
This review is from: Home Workshop Silencers I (Paperback)
I think that this book was very detailed and was a great book on how to build silencers. When I bought the book I didn't know anything about silencers and not only did it teach me how to make them but also the backround behind silencers and when and how they started. And the silencers work great!!!!

I bought 3 books on silencers and of the 3 this was the best but, It looks like the plans are about 20-30 years out of date. You could make a can from the plans but I personally would not.

I ordered this book out of curiousity. Having grown up watching movies and playing video games that made silencers seem pretty magical, I wanted to get some idea just how they made the magic happen.
The book is clearly written, and I have no doubt you could use the plans to make a servicable silencer. Of course, there's the rub. The author and publisher both point out frequently, that making or possessing silencers without license or permit is very illegal. I can't help but think the kind of curious tinkerers who would buy this book would be tempted to do just that (you can find lots of you tube videos to back that thought up). So, although it's interesting stuff, I'm not totally comfortable having the temptation around.

Information in book was well presented and if you intended constructing a device described in this book i dont think you would have any troubles.

The word "Silencer" is incorrect. It is properly called a "Suppressor". Is interesting to read. Being in R&D with firearms, anyone who reads it, PLEASE just read it. You make one, you get caught, (and you will get caught) you go to jail, and don't pass go. Enjoy the book only as I did.
