2.0 out of 5 stars she was no home-wrecker
i read the story... and honestly it was just one of those books you started and you were just going to finish it... i did not feel like she was a home-wrecker... she was getting paid to "break up" homes that were already broken... i feel like the arthur made the story very unrealistic as well... the characters were not developed enough and it wasn't a strong enough story...

Dwayne Joseph introduces readers to a different type of story in Home Wrecker. Marlene knows that her husband, Steve, is having an affair with his secretary. After all, according to Marlene, Steve has sex like he invented it and no one can resist him or his manhood. Marlene wants a divorce but there are complications. Her co-worker, Lisette, comes up with a plan. A deal is made and Lisette makes twenty-five thousand dollars. Marlene gets her divorce with some added perks and Lisette embarks on a lucrative career.

Lisette enjoys her job of helping women get rid of their husbands; until she meets Kyra. Kyra wants to get rid of her husband and out of the prenuptial agreement she signed. There is something about Kyra and the job she wants done that does not appeal to Lisette. When Lisette turns down the offer, Kyra makes threats that Lisette ignores until she is faced with losing all control.

Home Wrecker is sexy and will keep you on the edge of your seat as you try to figure out the next move of Lisette and Kyra - two women who refuse to relinquish their control over any situation. Lisette is arrogant and manipulative and is used to having it all on her terms; and Kyra simply wants what everyone has and then some. Joseph has given readers a sexy mystery that will leave them craving for more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crazy, Sexy, Cool, September 29, 2008
This review is from: Home Wrecker (Paperback)
Lisette is the baddest chick. She is a don diva that will make heads turn from both men and women. As the head buyer at LeVor Fashions making six figures, money is no object. Life was good to her, she didn't expect to make a career change.

One evening winding down after a meeting Lisette's co-worker Marlene is sick and tired of her husband Steve philandering ways. She doesn't have the means of getting the evidence that she seeks to get a divorce. Lisette offers that she has a full proof plan that will put him to shame and Marlene richer than before. A deal is made and twenty-five thousand dollars later, Lisette has new a profound career.

Years later Lisette is still going strong and have made more benjamins than she know what to do with. Her skills are paying the bills. Everything is going good her services are very much in demand, until she gets a mysterious caller who wants to hire Lisette and is not taking no as in option or bad things will start to happen. The question is will Lisette take heed to these warnings? Or will she get what she deserves.

Home Wrecker had a lot of sex appeal. I loved Lisette's character she was in control, it was either her way or no way. This book was a good read that will capture your attention right from the beginning. It was crazy, sexy, cool.

4.0 out of 5 stars Home Run with Homewrecker!!!, September 9, 2008
This review is from: Home Wrecker (Paperback)
Dwayne S Joseph took it to another level with "Home Wrecker". This novel is gritty and rough around the edges, unlike some of his previous novels.
This is the story of Lisette, she lives for power, and loves to be in control. Lisette makes money by using that power to take cheating married men down. Lisette makes 'em weak in the knees and they beg to get a taste of her honey...
Married women pay Lisette extremely well to play the role of a homewrecker. But everyone isn't impressed with Lisette's skills, someone wants to take her down when she doesn't do what they want.
I loved the book, but it was too short and it did not provide enough background info on the characters. Thats why I gave it 4/5 stars. A good read none the less.

From the moment I began reading the 1st chapter, I knew I was going to be hooked. The flow of the story is sharp & fast-paced & just super intriguing from start to finish. There are some unexpected plot twists which makes for an all around exciting read!
Oh, & I can totally visualize this on the big screen, it would really translate into a fabulous movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Regards, March 7, 2009

This review is from: Home Wrecker (Paperback)
Lisette, thanks to daddy dearest, realized that her budding body yielded men speechless. When her unremitting control issues alter her career path, Lisette uncovers a fulfilling void that she never knew existed. Lisette's new job involves destroying powerful marriages. While Lisette is no saint, she enjoys helping these women put themselves back together again.

It's been three flourishing years. An unidentified caller is interested in Lisette's discreet services. Unfortunately, her case is unlike any of the others and she doesn't like the diagnosis. Is it an offer that Lisette can afford to refuse? Beaten and broken, she will have to fight to maintain the one with the power. Does she have the tenacity to do so?

HOME WRECKER by Dwayne S. Joseph was a powerful, entrancing read that I couldn't put down! I was a little skeptical, because I'd read some of Dwayne's work and it just wasn't the type of writing I enjoyed. However, after speaking to La Jill Hunt, who kept saying HOME WRECKER was a must-read, I added it to my shelf. Glad I listened and I hope that we'll get another peek soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Use What You Got, March 1, 2009
This review is from: Home Wrecker (Paperback)
Dwayne Joseph delivers a provocative novel about one woman's need for control. Manipulation and control is a way of life for Lisette. And she's paid well to do just that - manipulate and control. You see, Lisette is a Home Wrecker. That's her occupation. She's paid to "assist" unhappily married women by bettering their situations. But when she meets a potential client who knows the game of manipulation and control oh so well too, will the best woman win?

With "Home Wrecker," author Dwayne Joseph has concocted a quick, easy and enjoyable read. "Home Wrecker," as its title implies, has drama for you. Easily recommendable.

This review is from: Home Wrecker (Paperback)
Lisette has an unusual career...working for desperate wealthy, wives who seek her help as a last resort to get out of their marriages. Her services cost a pretty penny but those who've hired her say she's worth every penny!
Due to the dangerous nature of her job clients are sworn to secrecy to protect themselves as well as Lisette from any harm.
You could call her a vigilante of sorts with a cool disposition... sexy, calm, and sophisticated. Lisette is always in control... that is until a potential client challenges her and tries to break her down.

A twisted tale with a strong lead character, who for the most part seemed on top of her game. But this author was able to bring out just enough insecurity in the character to really make you want to get deep into her head and see what really makes her tick.

I was disappointed in not meeting more of the husbands and be apart of the initial deception and take down of the clueless husbands. I can just imagine some of the original schemes Lisette would have come up with to trap her prey along with a few more sexy scenes...

Mr. Joseph has crafted an interesting story that is well worth the read!
