5.0 out of 5 stars Rebecca Moore rocks out, September 17, 2004

If you're a fan of original, unusual music you should definitely buy this CD. Although I'm a big fan of Moore's previous album, she continues to grow and evolve on this LP. She uses a large band to great effect. Many of the songs feel like mini orchestral pieces, with layers of violin, viola, cello, piano, truly bombastic bass lines, drums and piano, and layered vocals. Her lyrics are personal and poetic - she sings passionately in a clear alto, and never seems contrived. This album goes from fragile ballads like "Joy Will Come" to rocking songs like "Cartoon Lust".

It is very hard to describe her music accurately, so I highly recommend downloading the free song "If You Please Me" from her first album, which is offered right here on Amazon - or downloading songs from her web site (www.bluviolin.com). And best of all see her live!

5.0 out of 5 stars One Of My Favorites, February 15, 2003
This review is from: Home Wreckordings (Audio CD)
I own both of Rebecca's CD's- she's one of my favorite artists. I listen to this one almost every day and never get tired of it...I find I only like it more. Her voice is amazingly beautiful! I hear something new every time I listen to it. The best part is that it's nothing like what you hear on the radio, it's completely unique. Give this CD a listen, or two... or three- it's worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome Back Rebecca Moore, October 1, 2001

This review is from: Home Wreckordings (Audio CD)
Rebecca Moore is creating breathtaking music in her second release. I have listened to her first release 'admiral charcoal's song' every day for three years in a row! Homewreckcordings is unique and complex. Haunting sounds that (in part) remind me of Tom Waits. Like samples of someone's diary, I sometimes felt like an intruder to what I imagine to be a very personal creation. The E,W & F nod was well done! As inspirational as Coletrane's 'a love supreme', I'm grateful to hear Rebecca Moore again. Truly a brilliant artist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crusty Cynic Sheds a Tear, February 20, 2003
This review is from: Home Wreckordings (Audio CD)
We most humbly suggest that Rebecca Moore's music is nothing short of spectacular. Our usual cynical wisecracking self was moved to tears by her incredible voice and inventive music. We wish we could articulate more clearly and wax on poetically regarding this CD but alas we stumble haphazardly from one word to the next unable to do it justice. We can only urge you to listen for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars REBECCA IS INCREDIBLE, March 10, 2002
This review is from: Home Wreckordings (Audio CD)
If I could I would give this cd 10 stars... maybe someday Amazon will let me. She has to be one of the most talented musicians alive in New York City today, I am not kidding. I have seen her live as well, and think that she has something truly unique and special, and highly reccommend all her recordings for anyone who loves good music!
