Price is excellent, but you get what you pay for. I had read the other reviews and figured I would have a leak as well. Sure enough I did. However my leak was not solved by some Teflon tape and a wrench. I waited until brewing day to test/fix the pot, my mistake, as I was ready to go all set up, except the pot. To correct my leak, I had to buy new o-rings and grind down the the hole edges smooth. This was done only for the thermometer, as the valve did not leak. After all the extra finishing, which should have been done by the manufacture, I had a non-leaking pot and brewed a nice stout (I hope anyway - time will tell).

This product is not seamless. That is to say, it is made from 18 gauge stainless sheet metal that is welded to the bottom to make the kettle. This is perfectly fine, but mine came with a pin-hole leak on one of the welded seams, which I'm surprised passed quality control. Closer inspection revealed several small pits along the seams as well, which means the quality of the weld is poor. I made no attempt to return the product so I cannot vouch for customer service. Instead, I tried to TIG weld the pin hole, but this just grew the hole along the seam (another sign of a poor quality weld). I ended up having to silver solder it. It is now functional, but not so pretty.

Tje kettle leaked out of the holes where handles are welded in. Ran down sides constantly and pooled under kettle making popping sounds burning. Had to take liquid level below handles. Poorly made.

So, it looks solid but it's not. The valve wasn't on properly and I saw that right away. I had to pop the metal out first so it didn't cause a big dent due whoever put the valve on wasn't paying attention and caused the metal to cave inward. The welds look ok on the handles but seems to be some material left over which I had to use a knife to cut off. I will be testing it out this weekend to see if it leaks or not. Only real good thing I can say was it arrived on time.

I purchased this for my husband and when we got it the valve was broken. We tried contacting the company multiple times through phone calls and emails. The company never responded to us.

It would have been nice to know that the valve and thermometer do not come installed. The second picture in the advertisement shows the inside of the pot with them both installed. I guess I now have to get this pot drilled for the installation.

Would be a great pot if it was received with all the parts. Without the bulkheads there isn't a way to install the valve and thermometer. Beware of this one, would have passed if I knew I was going to have to buy additional parts.

I read the reviews - which seemed about 50/50 between people having problems and people actually liking the product (for the price). So I took a shot.

Just like flipping a coin - I'm in "that other 50%." Mine arrived without the thermometer or valve hardware at all! So ... I had the option to try to work through and wait for the seller to send me the parts - or just return it. Thinking about how others had commented how flimsy the handles seem - I could not imagine moving this thing with 5 or more gallons of scalding hot fluid in it. You would seem to HAVE to use the valve to empty some - or all - before moving. Which is a good reason to have a valve - but if you need to move it you need to move it.

I settled on returning it and spending the extra $40 for a "heavy duty" stainless 40 QT pot without the thermometer/valve. I kind of worry those end up being serious leak points and making it more hassle than it's worth.

Anyway - flip the coin if you want to...
