I love this purchase. Totally worth the money. I have two boxers and they were slurping their water ALL OVER the kitchen floor. It was disgusting. And as my 8 month old boxer was getting bigger, it looked like he was really struggling to eat out of his bowl on the floor. I was also getting sick of storing a 30 lb back of dog food in my pantry. I read a lot of reviews on this, and found it disappointing that everyone said the inside storage area was inconvenient to get to, but I guess it's all in how you use it. I decided to give it a try. It has almost completely eliminated the problem I was having with water all over the floor. My dogs are very comfortable eating out of it. And I have no problem storing dog food in it. The top opens up like a toy chest which most found to be inconvenient because you have to take the bowls out of the holes in order to open it. What I do is keep water in both bowls. When I go to feed, I dump the water out of both bowls. Then I take a scooper and just put my hand through the holes as opposed to opening the chest, I scoop the dog food out into the bowls, replace the bowls in the holes and it's feeding time. I can store ALMOST a whole 30 lb bag of dog food inside the chest. And last but not least, it looks sharp in my kitchen.
Over one year later--Ok, so I've had this item for a year now. I've received a lot of feedback that my comments were helpful. I wanted to add one last comment. If you decide to put water in the bowls, eventually the lid will warp around the edged of the holes. This happens because my dogs slurp water all over the place then the water sits on the lid all day until I wipe it up. The warping doesn't bother me because the rest of the container still looks good. Some people avoid this by not putting water in the bowls and only using it as a feeding stand.
