This is a great set of tongs ideal for car camping. It is lightweight, and folds compactly to store easily. It makes it possible to put wood on a hot campfire or fire in a fire pit, or to move logs in a hot fire around.

I would not particularly recommend it for use in a home fireplace, as there are much better sturdier tongs available. The curved ends of this tong are best suited for certain size logs, which make it more difficult to use at home than standard sturdy non folding fireplace tongs.

But for a simple, lightweight, folding, compact fireplace tongs for car camping, where it's compactness and light weight are an advantage, it's great.

This is the only tool I ever use while playing with fire. I bought 3! I have one for the fireplace in the house, one for the fire pit in the yard, and one in the camper for campfires. It will easily hold a large chunk of wood to help you re-arrange or rebuild the fire. It will also delicately hold small coals.

These are very well built.

A great old fashioned simple fire log turner. A neat suprise is that it "collapses" down. You pull the handles out like you're trying to open and it "smashes" down horizontally - the handles come down to meet the part that touches the log and the "knees" spread outwards. I liked it because it made storage nice. It works just great. Not the most heavy duty item but works great for turning logs on a fire.

I personally think that this style of tongs work best. They reach well into the firebox farther and release well. These particular ones are not as heavy duty as the ones they replaced, but thet work just fine with the size of split wood I burn.

I gave it only 4 stars because I am using these tongs for 3 weeks only. All I can say now, it is very useful peace of fireplace equipment. You do not need a poker if you have the tongs.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas, and he's been very pleased with them. A great product! I would definitely recommend these to anyone, we'll be using them in our outside firepit.

These tongs get lots of use in our fireplace. The best part is how they completely fold up to a much smaller size, making them great for when we head out camping this spring. The tongs are sturdy but not too heavy or clumsy. They are a great addition to our fireplace tools.

Took a bit longer then expected but the tongs arrived and work pretty well.
I have had to oil them up a bit first but other then that they work fine.

It worked well as a poker and for moving logs around, but my fire must have been too hot, the steel got soft and bent apart at the end, I had to bend it back to grab another log without dropping it.

I bought this item as gift for my son. Shipping time was great. He said they were just what he needed.
