Book Description

I need you, Ariane. You are the reason I could breathe when I thought nothing was worth living for in this damn world.

Ariane Michaelson is always the quiet girl in the room, the one that her kooky mother and three sisters lovingly call the wallflower. After graduating from college she finds it more than a little difficult to find the graphic design job of her dream...or any job, really. She’s more than given up on painting, and a terrible run-in with her twin sister’s fiancé makes each day harder to keep a life altering secret.

Liam Ashdown was just the moody small town nobody, with one friend and a busted pickup—until he moved to LA. Spotted by famous actor and producer Michael Jennings during a late night shift at the bar, Liam is transformed seemingly overnight into Tinsel Town’s hottest bad boy. The life Liam once knew is turned upside down with models and mayhem...and there isn’t much down time in-between.

The only thing that keeps him sane is the paintings. Beautiful ocean portraits that remind him of home, painted years ago by some friend of a friend.

What he wouldn’t give to know her. To tell her that her art saves him everyday.

The engagement of his childhood friend, Todd, brings him back home to Craryville, to deal with a drug-addicted mother and an ailing grandmother. But it also brings him hope—somewhere in the bridal party is the woman who has been his calm and respite in the storm of fame.

The only question is, can she save him?

Editorial Reviews

Praise for Homecoming:

"This book has a depth and is a really easy read. It shows us the journey two people take to find the people they're meant to be."--All Night Books

"Jackie Sexton has created realistic characters...Ariane is quiet, shy, a wallflower really (I know all about that, haha), so it made it really easy for people to fall in love with her."--Reading Shy with Ally

From the Author

Writing my first contemporary romance was so much fun! I love Ariane so much, and creating her journey was a true pleasure, from start to finish. But of course, the other Michaelson girls need to find a way to break the gypsy cures that keeps them from love! So I can't wait to write all of their journeys through heartbreak and HEA!
What's this about a gypsy curse, you say? I guess you'll just have to read to find out ;)

4.0 out of 5 stars Feasted On: Love Michaelson Series, Book 1 August 13, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
4 out of 5 stars!! This was a dynamically intense novel! About two people who are at impasses in their lives, meeting again after years apart and finding out what their true dreams are while getting to know one another. I really enjoyed this novel. Even though it seems more fantastical then anything with there being a family curse and someone falling in love while not ever meeting the other person, but it was also because of that "imaginary stuff" that made me fall into Liam & Ariane's worlds and like them as a couple. In some ways Liam reminded me of Travis from Jamie McGuire's "Beautiful Disaster" because of both of their intense and possessive nature's, also because they both seem to fall instantly in love with their "girls."

I found Liam & Ariane to really balance each other out, which--in turn--made me root for their relationship no matter what they ended up doing. It also make me curious as to what will come next in this series, as this novel was written (it seemed) like a stand-alone.

I do recommend this novel to those who enjoy contemporary NA romances that have a little fantasy thrown in! =0)

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Is Hotter Than A Rekindling July 24, 2014
By CeeCee
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this book it’s got a great story to begin with an interesting premise and one that I have not read before so kudos for originality. I liked the way the author created the dynamic between the two main characters.

A lot of times I find in an adult romance many times the heroine if you will is very one dimensional and wispy not our Ariane loved her. She is strong, and engaging and funny and irreverent and what she really needs is to find the chick in her inner soul and beat the curse.

That is about all I’m going to say about her mission in the book because I don’t like to spoil things for new readers. Part of the joy, is the surprises the author leaves like bread crumbs along the plot line.

When you follow author Jackie Sextons bread crumbs you dive into a world that is part glamour part mouse. When she combines the two worlds a romantic, passionate and low burning attraction burns steadily. Then bam it is an inferno. I liked the way her pacing went it was different but that is not bad that just makes the author an original.

In my opinion why Indie authors are so interesting to read they don’t play it safe as they have nothing to lose. What that does is give the reader an abundance of new and different plots and characters from standard publishers. This is one of those books the characters are so unique I just adored the read from cover to cover.

I am also signing up for the email announcement located at the upper right so that I’m notified when the other Michaelson girls get their close up. I’m gave this five stars because the author deserved them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightfully Romantic August 12, 2014

Oh I simply loved this book. It is so sweet and romantic and took my heart to a wonderful place. It is so touching and so compelling. The characters are so perfectly defined for this story. The love and bond between Ariane and Liam is so inspiring and so real. They belong together. The details are outstanding and made me feel like I was there for all of it. It is well written with a smooth and easy flow. This is one of the best romance novels I have read and believe me I have read many of them. I hated for this to end and I do hope there is a second book to this lovely story. The author, Jackie Sexton is so gifted and her passion and love for writing shine through every word. I love her style and gentle heart. I strongly recommend this book to everyone. It is a joy to read.

3.0 out of 5 stars I could really relate to Ariane August 24, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a Cinderella story of sorts. Although I think the author could have added more to this story, it was an easy enjoyable read.

I could really relate to Ariane. I often found myself thinking what she was. I wish she would have opened up her mouth just a little at the end, had it out with Liam.

Liam is one of my fantasy men. Bad boy turned into actor but yearns for the simple life he knew he wanted. For a man who thinks he knows the woman, he was quite clueless about her feelings. I know most men are, but she is a wallflower. She doesn't want to go to premiers and clubs like that.

I give this book 3.5 Stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional July 22, 2014

This is my first book I've read from this author and I would like to say honestly that this book was so good and emotional. The relationship between Liam and ariane was emotional they both was battling with missing something from there life Liam was unhappy with the whole acting thing and ariane was a wallflower that was afraid to step out on faith and let the world see and fall in love with her talent because that's what Liam did so it's like they completely each other but it's only the beginning. So I know the next story between them to would be a emotionally rollercoaster and I will enjoy the ride

Extremely enjoyable read. I loved both Ariane and Liam from the very beginning. Fantastic story and great characters. This book is a great mix of romance, a little steaminess, a little drama. Very real look at the ups and downs of celebrity. Highly recommend.
