Operating at more than 28,000 brush strokes per minute, this electric toothbrush has a brush head with bristles of different heights and shapes to clean teeth thoroughly. Wedge-shaped bristles in the rectangular brush head's center slant both ways, and shorter, rounded bristles line the sides. Because the bristles are soft, protection is afforded teeth and gums from a too-hard scrubbing. A timer reminds a user to continue brushing for two minutes, the minimum time recommended by dentists. For family use or for the future, the toothbrush comes with two brush heads, both of which store under a hinged cover in the charging base. To add my two cents in with some of other reviewers of this toothbrush...This sonic toothbrush is a piece of .... After a month of use, the brush turns on the minute you take it off of the charger..it finally shuts itself off after about a minute and a half..then you can't turn it on again. Get a life, get a new sonic toothbrush that works!

I got this for Xmas from my sis since she's studying to be a dental hygenist, but the problem is this toothbrush has not been working right at all. For one, the first one I got from my sis was fully charged but after using it once would not work unless I squeezed the handle really hard. Then I had it exchanged for a different one but over a month of using it the toothbrush itself would automatically turn itself on when I take it out of the charger. I could not turn it off either since the buttons are so hard to press and you'd practically need tough fingers to work this thing after some time. I'd recommend a toothbrush that's a little more expensive with more reliability than this one.

This toothbrush stinks! Recently my sonicare toothbrush broke so I decided to try this one because I didn't want to spend a lot of money and after comparing the number of brushstrokes to a sonicare (28,000Homedics, 31,000Sonicare) I thought how bad could this one be; well what a waste of money, it is cheaply made, the on button requires two hands to start it, and I get more power with a manual brush. What a piece o...! Thats what I get for being cheap (you only get what you pay for).
